Why did Attorney General ask for the hearing in Barnett v Dunn for October 25th?

The scheduling of the hearing for Oct 25 stinks. If there was ever a case for which the motion for an expedited hearing was designed ( the only other I can think of is an immanent death penalty ) it is the eligibility of a candidate to be on the ballot. When the judge refused the expedited hearing prior to the primary, something began to stink. After all, this is not a capital case. At most, the hearing would take a couple of hours. Then to schedule the main hearing for October, a mere 2 weeks before the general election- when she could hear it in July, August, or September ( it will be interesting to check what “pressing” cases she has scheduled on he docket for those months ) smells of something fishy. It is as if “the powers that be” have already decided the outcome.

There are 2 scenarios. The first is Bowen is orchestrating the date knowing that he will be disqualified and that leaves no name on the ballot and no time for you to run an effective campaign. That brings up another question which I will check into. When are the ballots for the general election printed ? If they are before Oct 25, then the court must know this. By scheduling the hearing on OCt 25, they are in collusion.

The second scenerio is that the RINO’s know he will be disqualified and are colluding with Bowen on this. If he were to be disqualified now, you would be the offical Rep candidate,. That would put them in the postion of funding and backing you – which they do not want to do. By moving the date so close to the general election, it is too late for them to fund you or back you in any of their campaign literature.

Orly, Mike has a very good point here. Why not build a case based on exactly what he is saying. Remember, the case was requested to be expedited prior to the primary election, but was postponed until after the primary. The judge did not say 3 or 4 months after, or anything like that. She did not elaborate on the docket, and this is more important than anything else right now.

The importance of the hearing still stands and expedition is for the voters, not the candidates.

Am I wrong here? Let’s at least consider Mike’s idea.
