Thank you for sharing your thoughts regarding the health care debate. Input from fellow Texans significantly informs my decision-making and empowers me to better represent the state. I especially appreciate your patience awaiting a response as we established our office and mail system.

Our nation continues to confront a large number of deeply troubling issues. Chief among those is the healthcare law many have come to know as “Obamacare.”  Passed on a party-line vote over the consistent objections of the American people, the law is proving simply to be unworkable – as millions of Americans lose health coverage, despite the President’s repeated assurance that “if you like your plan, you can keep it.”

Moreover, Obamacare is driving up the cost of health insurance and causing individuals and families to lose access to their doctors. Many Americans have been left with nowhere to turn, even as the law is forcing employers to stop hiring or cut workers’ hours and pay. All of this is having a devastating impact on the economy, at a time when our first priority should be restoring economic growth.

From day one in the Senate, my goal has been to stop Obamacare from harming Americans. The first piece of legislation I introduced was a bill to repeal Obamacare, which was cosponsored by most of my Republican colleagues and supported by all of them when we finally received a vote on the floor of the Senate. I later introduced legislation to defund the law and spent more than 21 hours on the Senate floor attempting to persuade Washington to listen to the American people and protect them before the law took effect.

While the President and Democrats in Congress insisted upon shutting down the government to protect Obamacare, families across the country were learning that if they liked their health insurance, they really could not keep it. Real Americans are being hurt. I will continue to fight for full repeal of this destructive law and for restoration of Americans’ insurance plans-with better access, choices, and affordability for all. I will fight for a fresh start for healthcare reform, designed to meet the needs of the American people.

   Orly,
   No surprise there. Over the years I’ve called my congressmens’ offices and the aides are either oblivious to their surroundings or faking it. The last Representative that actually replied to any correspondence, beyond the form letter, was Joe Scarborough. Marco Rubio and Jeff Miller, Are my current crop and they live by form letter, even when you request a reply. Goodluck.

   Orly: the 2nd sentence that “he” supposedly wrote to you, seems very suspect…like either the aide wrote this back to you…or does Cruz actually know you? or where you live?

   I think he knows you, but this is the same type of FAKE reply I use to get from a member of Congress in my home state. Till I discovered that Obama has put his clerics in as many offices as possible, for members of both parties!

   Unless, Cruz actually wrote this, you have come across another O supporter?!

   I have contacted numerous agencies,courts and congress members to investigate for his ID fraud. I was totally ignored for the last few years. It was only after repeated efforts to one of my Congress member who finally said that there is no effort in the House to impeach the President but there was no mention of any Id fraud.That was about six months ago. Cruz knows the issue is there , he is not ignorant and rather smart at times . He is avoiding this just like the rest of Congress. He also stands to be disqualified for the Presidency since he was not born in the U.S. so he may not have an interest in this. Bottom line: the Constitution is not a priority to them and only a full constitutionalist should be put into any office.
