The Presidential Veto and Congressional Veto Override …
House passes bill to slow Syrian refugees despite Obama veto threat
We need 67 Senators to override Obama’s veto on Syrians. We have 54 Repubs, need 13 Dems. So far we have only 1 Dem, Schumer, who is running for reelection. Other Dems are selling us out to globalists, will flood the nation with terrorists.
We know that the Senate is more corrupt than the House as more money was poured to buy senate seats. The globalists want to keep our borders open and they have many senators in their pocket. I hope that all of the Republicans will vote to stop the threat of terrorism with a flood of Syrian migrants, however in order to override the veto, there is a need for 67 votes. There are only 54 Republicans. There is a need for 13 Dems to vote for the bill and so far the only Dem, who stated that he will vote for it, is Schumer. He is voting for it as he is facing a re-election next year. Michael Bennett of CO is likely to vote for the bill as he is due for re-election and he is vulnerable. Congressman Coffman has a good chance of beating him, so Bennett is likely to vote against the Syrians and against Obama in order not to anger his constituency. From what I recall, only 10 out 46 Democratic party senators are due for re-election. However, 3 of them: Boxer, Reid and Mikulski are retiring and they will vote with Obama against the bill. Blumenthal is running with a huge margin and will likely side with Obama. So, I am afraid that only 6-7 Dems will side with Republicans on the Syrian terrorists bill. This is short of 13 Dems needed to override Obama veto. Likely, we will need other ways to stop this flood of terrorism. One option, is defunding the program, via budget allocations (or lack of allocation). I am afraid that Paul Ryan passed the Syrian bill for show only, knowing that there will not be enough votes in the senate to override the veto. I am afraid that Ryan will not do something really effective, such as defunding the program. Another option -legal action. For that option you need a judge with integrity and some backbone…

You NAMED it the ONLY one Democrat is running for re-election….could this have an affect on where he stands on the issue? YOU BET it does…they know the populace is against it….but more important is their election…after which he will make a 180 and be 100% on board for the Syrians.

Dr Orly, can the House and Senate use that 50% majority to pass the override, instead of the 2/3-rds to keep o in check?

Also, Orly, where is Joni Ernst from the Senate, from Iowa?
And I do understand about the scum who is holding a head in his hands!
These idiots need NOT to step foot in America!
