Trump is closing on 270 electoral votes

Currently Trump has 265 electoral votes. He needs 270 for a win or at least 269 for a tie to be broken in his favor by the Congress.
He is on the verge of flipping 3 more states:
- He is only 0.7% behind in District 2 in Maine (Maine divides its’ electoral votes between 2 districts)
- He is within 0.8% in New Hampshire. The latest poll shows him up 5% in New Hampshire.
- He is within 1.7% in Colorado. The latest poll shows him tied there.
1 poll from Remington research, which is fair and does not overload the poll with Democrats, in those states will flip them in Trump’s favor. Either Colorado or a combination of New Hampshire and District 2 in Maine will give Trump enough electoral votes to get to 270 and become the 45th president.

We need to have Mr Trump send a notation to the TV stations on elections night, saying that there should not be any “pre-projections” on who the winner is…
Like they did in 2012…when some station in Illinois had Obama the winner and there wasn’t even 1% of the vote counted at that time!

I STILL don’t get it.. maybe I missed it during my high school days when I had a class in Government.
If the election depends on these electoral votes from somewhere, why do we mere mortals even go to the polls?
It is a conundrum to me.
