Trump brings birther charge against Cruz

Real estate tycoon Donald Trump cast doubt Monday on whether Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) can run for president, because Cruz was born in Canada.

“It’s a hurdle; somebody could certainly look at it very seriously,” Trump said during a phone interview Monday on My Fox New York.

“He was born in Canada. If you know and when we all studied our history lessons, you are supposed to be born in this country, so I just don’t know how the courts will rule on this.”

Trump, who says he is exploring a bid for president in 2016, was part of the “birther” movement that questioned President Obama’s birth place, as well as the veracity of his birth certificate. He recently took credit for getting Obama to release his birth certificate while speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in February.

The Nation needs, before all else, a working definition of “NATURAL BORN.”

Those of us who graduated high school before the 90’s always learned JUS SANGUINIS/JUS SOLI.

Perhaps one your readers, Orly, will have an old High School American History textbook which can guide us.

Trump, The View, any of them, HAVE to define the term before they can expound on it.

Those who have focused on OBAMA have used the double requirement Sanguinis/Soli.

Time for the Cruz Patrol to define it and see if their definition has legal foundations.

    DOES GREG GUTFELD KNOW SOMETHING?

by Sharon Rondeau (The Post Email)

Greg Gutfeld co-hosts “The Five” at 5:00 p.m. weekdays on the Fox News Channel and until very recently, hosted his own show, “Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld”

(Mar. 23, 2015) — In a Monday evening discussion of Sen. Ted Cruz’s earlier declaration that he will seek the 2016 presidential nomination, Fox News Channel‘s Greg Gutfeld of “The Five” asked the question of the other four co-anchors (paraphrased),

“Aren’t we tired of having a president who was born outside the country?”

Gutfeld must have been referring to Barack Hussein Obama, who Gutfeld has identified in the past as having been

born outside of the United States.

To the public’s knowledge, no other president in American history preceding Obama has been born outside the country.

Trump now has affirmed the JUS SOLI part:

    from BirtherReport-

Donald Trump was on MyFoxNY and was asked if he was going to go after Senator Cruz’s dual-citizenship like he did with Barack Obama.

Trump said Cruz was born in Canada and you’re supposed

to be born in USA to be POTUS.
    ———-

    Trump with Megyn Kelly:

    HILLARY was the original birther.

Just a few years ago Cruz was a dual citizen.

He hopes Cruz will be “ok.”

Rafael (“Ted”) Cruz is ineligible to be President.
Born and raised in Calgary, Canada, it was only a few months ago that he revoked his loyalty to Queen Elizabeth II, her heirs and successors.
Mr Cruz is a natural born Canadian. Whether or not he is actually a Manchurian Candidate is a matter for another debate.
The only hook his supporters have is that his mother was born in the States. So was Obama’s mother. Those two facts are not in dispute.
Therefore, either Obama and Cruz are BOTH eligible, or NEITHER is eligible. This is a time of testing our principles.
Did we just waste eight years of struggle, court cases, and (mostly) bad publicity? Or has Ted Cruz just deliberately killed the Birther movement?

Trump brings up a good point: are we going have candidates who are Constitutionally qualified and properly vetted or have another Obama?

    I beg to differ.

I launched the Ted Cruz Birther movement in September 2013. See the above link.
