There’s been a lot of talk about whether Congress will pass a budget by the end of this month — or instead, as some have called for, let the government shut down.

I want to spell out exactly what a shutdown would mean:

Nearly all federal programs — and the people they work for — would suffer. We’re talking delayed military pay and veterans’ benefits. Shutting down Head Start centers, and Meals on Wheels programs. Delayed applications for new Social Security enrollments, and loans for students and small businesses.

One thing is clear: Shutting down the government will hurt the American people.

    drunken sailors quit drinking when they run out of money

    obams has no money SO HE IS USING A STOLEN CREDIT CARD.. stolen because he has no legal ritht to it..

    i wonder if he is ever found guilty of being a fraud if he can be arrested for improper use of our credit line?

    There are no new rules, Will. Physicians can only prescribe certain medications one month at a time. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about as the DEA institutes these rules and regulations and they have been in effect for years prior to PBO taking office.

    I would think that he’s not going to be able to shut down things…as just (2) of the items you mention, Orly, such as: Military pay and veterans benefits…along with head start are the type of things that some people might not take too kindly to?!

    And McCain now has the (666) number all over him…with the bribes! I’m wondering how he feels now, after spending years in a commie prison…?

    The absolute BEST thing that could happen to America is for the machine in Sodom DC to SHUT DOWN, and stay shut down! Yes it will hurt – the lackeys that live off the taxpayers back. It’s time to show the American people that the sky won’t fall and the sun WILL come up the day after it’s shut down, and gone.

    Dr Taitz,
    I heard that because we do not have a draft, voluntary military can refuse to obey orders under the Contitution: against domestic/ foreighn terrorist.
    Alex Jones is making sense…Military people are now questioning theirs orders.

    All our taxes collected on April from Conservatives should be kept in an escrow account. Why give our hard money to progressives causes that are destroying our country. In Maine on week end, kids are hungry. During the week they have been getting free meals at school from tax money whobis responsible to feed theirs kids?
    Can you believe that?
