   All they need do to end the this grand “anchor baby” lie is acknowledge and apply the true meaning and purpose of the 14th amendment.

   The 14th amendment states one must be born subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.If one is born to parents who are subjects of another country, then he or she also is subject to that same country. the 14th changes nothing that was not already understood at the time of its ratification in 1868.

   The true purpose for the 14th amendment was to confirm the newly freed slaves and their children, who had not been considered citizens of the United States beforehand, were now judged subjects of the United States and there for citizens of the United States.

   In no way or no where does there exist a provision that being born on American soil alone instills citizenship.

   Unfortunately, Lankford, you are stuck with the actual words of the amendment. You can thank Scalia for that. And anyone in the territory of the US is subject to its jurisdiction, regardless of parental citizenship.

   It is not I who is stuck. It is the fools who accept the misrepresentation and intentionally misinterpreted phrase “subject to the jurisdiction thereof”. It is they who are “stuck” in ignorance.

   A simple search and review of the congressional debates on the 14th amendment would clarify the fact. But I suppose that is too much of an effort for most. Even too much for those who are supposed to know the truth.
