Russia claims that 438 Ukrainian soldiers crossed the border and surrendered to Russia, BBC reports 311 soldiers. Will Putin use these and 5,000 surrounded soldiers as a leverage against the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, to retain Russian control over important industrial Donbass region, which recently announced independence from Ukraine?

Минобороны Украины признало бегство бойцов на территорию РФ

Госпогранслужба и Минобороны Украины подтвердили: часть военнослужащих, участвовавших в силовой операции на юго-востоке страны, ушла в РФ. При этом в ведомствах не назвали точное количество бойцов, которые покинули территорию Украины.

Как сообщил в эфире телеканала “112.Украина” Алексей Дмитрашковский – пресс-офицер штаба силовой операции, “когда закончились боеприпасы, остатки поврежденной техники, которая осталась на поле боя, были подорваны, остатки 72-й бригады вышли на КП Российской Федерации”.

В Государственной пограничной службе Украины заявили, что военным пришлось пойти на это, т.к. у них закончились боеприпасы, передает НТВ.

Ранее в ФСБ РФ сообщили, что за помощью к российским пограничникам обратились 438 человек, среди которых был один раненый. Из 438 украинских военных, перешедших через границу, 164 – пограничники.
