Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and just a few others are the last of the Mohicans. Rubio has been either threatened or bought out. I use to like the guy.
He is way to wishy washy now. Another one bites the dust

Marco Rubio had the valor to confront an issue which has been festering for decades, and which no Political Correct Cowardly politician had the intestinal fortitude to face and solve.
What do you propose, leaving the broken status quo intact ?
A Bill, by its very nature, is to be discussed, amended and with the good faith of all the parties involved, try to resolve this important problem, that deals with the security of our nation.
The other alternative is to cross our arms, and let Obama write the law, by way of his arbitrary and illegal Presidential Orders.

Rubio cannot be serious that these illegals will NOT be privy to benefits.

The moment one has children, THOSE children are, as the law is employed still now, American citizens and are dutifully eligible for benefits, but those parents would then be able for food stamps, health care, etc.

The moment an illegal under this system marries an American citizen, they are on track for a Green Card, because they are in this country in a protected immigration status.

No Federal benefits can be DENIED anyone based on immigration status. Even though the proposed legislation says “NO” it won’t be long for a court to say “YES.”

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS? Is Rubio serious?

How would anyone in the USA know if they committed crimes in their home countries. Just as someone famous in the White House, names and identities are very fluid among illegal immigrants. A few dollars sent to the home country can result in new birth certificates, cleaned up police records (if they are even available as many crimes go unreported).

HEALTH issues: Most Illegals who cross the Southern Border are NOT vaccinated for anything unless they went to a government clinic near their village. As so many villages in Mexico and Central America are so off the beaten path, there are thousands of villages where vaccinations are unheard of, super TB is rampant, and more. If they are to be vaccinated or treated for TB, American taxpayers will FOOT THAT BILL without any doubt.

This nation has the RIGHT to stipulate WHAT KIND OF LEGAL IMMIGRANTS it permits. For Rubio et al to accomodate the nation to the results of many decades of failed policies and illegal activity is an insult, even though his group of supporters posit the legislation as “humane,” “effective,” and a “solid middle road.”…In truth, it is the approbation of failure with a smiling face.

Just look what MEXICO does to ITS illegals crossing its southern border to get up to the US Border. Obama went to Mexico and said that this legislation promised CITIZENSHIP to “ILLEGALS.”

Is O really a President or a paid agent of destruction?

He shows NO LOVE for America, yet great reverence for its demise.

McCain and Rubio have it ALL WRONG and MOST REPUBLICANS and CONSERVATIVES and CONSTITUTIONALISTS are not paying any attention to those slick paid for pro-Rubio Immigration ads on Fox.

    It jes ain’t workin’!

the status is broken because the federal government is braking it and preventing the states from deporting illegals and from doing e-verify checks. we do not need a massive amnesty. We need corrupt federal government to get out of the way and let the states do their job. What Rubio is doing, is not courage. He is doing something to please his donors and handlers, who want to reduce the wages in the U.S. by flooding the U.S. with cheap and obedient labor. rubio is a puppet, who needs to go. He completely discredited himself

Have the 12 to 20 million illegals, got here during the Obama regime, or have they arrived since the last amnesty of 1986, and with both Republicans and Democratic Presidents, and Congresses having blinders on their eyes?
That ought to tell us that a profound change in immigration policies has to be instituted, since the soft treatment of the illegal alien problem has occured under both parties.

the change that is needed is to throw out of office all corrupt politicians, like Obama and Rubio and put in office ones that will enforce the law. We do not need new laws to clean up the problem, we need new clean politicians
