Oversight Committee of Congress can subpoena Secretary of Treasury Jack Lew for an emergency hearing seeking to get from him a plan of action, as to which spending cuts will be actuated in case there is no increase of the debt ceiling. While they are at it , they should ask why is Obama using a failed Social Security number with his tax returns, which are in Lew’s possession.

Now Jack Lew is saying that on the 17th he will not be able to borrow, not that he will not be able to pay preexisting debt.

‘‘I’m telling you that on the 17th, we run out of the ability to borrow, and Congress is playing with fire,’’ Lew said.

There has to be an emergency hearing of the House Judiciary Committee calling on Lew and Obama to testify and provide information as to what plans were made by Obama and Lew to cut the current spending in order to continue running the federal government on the budget if the debt ceiling will not be raised.

Obama and Lew will not have immunity and will not be able to avoid such hearing and testimony in light of the fact that two of them were running around Washington and claiming that they will default. The Congress is entitled to demand an answer, what are  they planing to do in preventing default, in making sure they comply with the 14 th amendment and pay the debt obligations first and reasonably budget the remaining funds to continue running the government on the budget. If Obama is refusing to negotiate, he has to respond what departments and agencies will he cut, which employees will he lay off.

The Congress can demand an answer, how are they planing to cut the funding to the remaining departments after paying the debt and paying for the military, which was funded separately. Social Security and Medicare will not be affected, as these are separate funds.  employees who will be laid off  due to budget cuts, need to be notified. Employees whose salaries will be cut, need to be notified. These employees need to start looking for other jobs.

Here are some precedents:

Cheney v. US Dist.Ct for DC, 542 U.S. 367 (2004). And in Rubin v. United States, the Court commented that testimony and documents may be compelled, “unless those conversations clearly fall within the bounds of ‘executive privilege,’ the bounds of which are unclear.” 525 U.S. 990 (1998)

Congress has the power to issue subpoenas for Congressional investigations. See 2 USC 190m (enacted 1879) allowing subpoenas, and 2 USC 192 (enacted 1938), setting the penalties for ignoring a Congressional subpoena.And where executive privilege is in conflict with subpoena power, federal courts favor compelling testimony in most cases. See U. S. v. Tobin, 195 F.Supp. 588 (DC.Cir. 1961)

My personal suggestion: while they are at it, they should ask Obama, why is he using a stolen Connecticut Social Security number of Harry Bounel in his tax returns, why doesn’t he have a valid Social Security number. They should ask Jack Lew, why didn’t he or his FOIA officer provide an answer to the complaint and FOIA request made by Attorney Orly Taitz in regards to Obama using an invalid Social Security number in his Tax Returns submitted to the IRS department of the U.S. treasury, which are under Lew’s control. How  can Lew be trusted with the U.S. Treasury if he covers up Obama’s use of a stolen Social Security number. see documents below.

    Orly,They all KNOW why o is using a fake s.s.# I don’t think they CAN do anything. This redidency was a back room deal that was done in 1961!!!

    How and in which way is our current Congress obligated to uphold an agreement from 1961? if is the case.
    how many involved in such an agreement could possibly still be in office or even still alive for that matter
    it does not make sense to me..

    Incidentally if epithelial evidence can ascertain that Obama is not now, nor ever has been, an Afro-American, the blow done to the media, the Democrats, the Congressional Black Caucus and the Black Grievance Industry (BGI) will be palpable, to say the least!
