    The prevailing assumption seems to be that Obama will not show up for court and that there will be a default judgement against him.

    I suppose it would be too much to expect that the Judge would also hold Obama in contempt of court and/or have a bench warrant issued for his arrest for failure to appear.

    I think this is precisely what the Judge should do if Obama fails to appear. I know that is exacty what the Judge would order if you or I simply refused to appear for a court date.

    So, Obama doesn’t intend to obey the subponea compelling him to personally appear at the elibility hearing? Just as well, that way the Judge could and should then find/hold Obama in “Contempt of Court”, issue a warrant for his arrest, and confine him until he (Obama) obeys all the subponeas he (the Judge) issued him (Obama). 🙂
