Cruz is an opportunity for liberals to justify Obama’s illegal candidacy. We have plenty of natural born citizens to choose from. Cruz most likely would be a great president but it is just a bait and switch game by democrats. The democrats are masters of corruption.

It’s too bad that Cruz is not eligible…but I saw someone from US News and World Report on Saturday evening bad mouth Cruz and tell the world that he’s too conservative!
And this person actually said that he thought Jeb Bush was a more likely candidate for President!! As Jeb is a little more moderate!!
Too much!!!

Both of Ted Cruzs Parents are American Citizens. I dont think his dad was at the time Ted was Born. The purpose of the requirements is to prevent a Person with loyaites to a foreign country from becoming President. The question is do the Parents have to be citizens at the time of Birth or at the time of Election.I think the latter is more important of the two. At the time of Election a parent could have moved back to their former country and had given op their citizenship and the son or daughter would still qualify and possible have loyalties to another country.

Russell Bennett, the parents “must” be citizens at the time of birth and the child “must” be born in the United States of America.
Cruz was born in Canada, his father was a Cuban and his mother was an American at the time of his birth.
If being a citizen is all that is required, then why did the Founding Fathers put a grandfather clause in the requirements? They would have been citizens and eligible.

The author of the article said that no Court has defined “natural born Citizen” but, as we all know, SCOTUS case Minor v Happersett did in fact define “natural born Citizen” as born in the country to citizen parents of the country.
