Interesting legal conandrum: will Sterling still sue NBA for damages in the amount of capital gain tax on 2 bln?

REPORT: Former MICROSOFT CEO Ballmer to buy CLIPPERS for $2 billion…

Sterling saga continues and legal questions are still hovering over reported 2 bln deal to sell Clippers, which is amazing, considering we are not talking Lakers here.

there are two possible options here: if NB signs on the dotted line, NBA and Adam Silver still might end up on the receiving end of a serious legal action for as much as 800 mln in capital tax gains from the trust that owned the team, as sterling will surely claim that he solld the team under duress and if  the team were to be sold after he passes, his heirs would not owe capital gains tax.

option 2: NBA does not sign on the dotted line: then NBA and Adam Silver will be on the hook for the lost profit of the mammoth 2 bln deal plus treble punitive damages.

Do you think sterling will still sue NBA after he sells the team?

I think that everyone who wants to get out of a sport franchise ownership and can’t find the right buyer at the right price should use the “N” word if applicable, get disenfranchised by the league honchos, sue the league for violation of Constitutional rights and every other thing to be thought of, and have fun for the rest of his life on the league’s tab.

Since Clinton’s sexcapade with Monica, and his not giving back the 200 Million the fish coughed up for his defense fund, it’s obvious that a whole new way of making a killing has come on the scene. Politicians, if they weren’t so honest and out for the good of the country, could borrow from Clinton and develop very nice nest eggs for themselves.

I listened to Ballmer speak at a Forum several years ago and we came away thinking “this guy is the CEO of Microsoft?” he was unimpressive to say the least but I felt like the guy had to have a fair amount of intelligence atleast. That is until now anyway. The Clippers franchise is worth $500 Mil so this Putz comes in and gives $2 Bil???!!!! I’ve got a Skeeter boat for sale and I have been offered $55k by the dealer. I think it will bring $60k. I’m trying to get ahold of Ballmer to have him give me $240k for it! This cat is living proof that even a stone cold idiot can become a Billionaire. Mr Ballmer the boat is detailed and waiting for you.
