I need info on NY zoning laws

I got over 30 responses on face-book re ways to stop the mosque at ground zero. One thing I need to know: what are the zoning laws in lower Manhattan? If they place the mosque there, will it infringe on the rights of the citizens, who want to frequent bars in that area? Will it cause closure of bars?
What about parking requirement? How many parking places were allowed in this building, when it was Burlington Coat Factory? If it is a mosque, don’t they need significantly more parking places to accommodate the parisheners? Wouldn’t it violate the parking zoning laws?
Do we have any an NY attorneys, who can help figure that out?

Haggman gets it wrong as regards the meaning of the 14th Amendment, but what is said here makes good sense.

In the scheme of things, it is not
truly important if Islam is a religion
or not. It is a barbaric and
cruel belief, which is hypocritical

i’d just would like to say that it is very easy to stop any construction of mosque…
People just need to kill a pig, keep all the blood and the internal organs to throw them on the floor of the building that will be reorganized as mosque or the land where they want to built a mosque…
in muslim laws it is impossible to do any mosque or cult over soiled place and less if it is done with pig blood.
so don’t forget the head to place in the place for them to know it was a pig who was killed!!!

Keep it simple…Denny’s 24 hr. Restaurant, make sure the Grill is vented right at the mosque. Denny’s cooks and serves a lot of pork. Denny’s would not be considered a “Hate Establishment” and would be American & Politicly Correct.

Carl Paladino is a Republican candidate running for NYS Governor on the newly formed Taxpayers line. He is very much against the building of a Mosque near Ground Zero and says he can stop it through power of eminent domain. At the risk of sounding like a campaigner, he IS the real deal. Orly, he is much like you, gutsy, ballsie, and not afraid of anyone. He is for the people and he says what he thinks, he truly is one of a kind. He is already scaring the be-jeepers out of the downstate liberals. He is a successful Western New York real estate developer and attorney and given his track record I believe he can stop the Ground Zero Mosque and will if given the chance. Yehpora their is no way they could stop Dr Orly from speaking at this event since every one their is a big fan and supporter of her. The only one who might not want her is Sarah Palin becasue Dr Orly is prettier than her.
