I need help in getting in touch with this woman, who is threatened with $60,000 fine by the thugs of Obama regime, for growing a lemon tree in her house

(NaturalNews) The US government’s assault against innocent American citizens continues to get more aggressive and just plain strange, with new reports of harassment against honest owners of ordinary lemon trees. Health Freedom Alliance (HFA) reports that officials from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) are now spying on people whom they suspect are in possession of ordinary lemon trees, and threatening them with excessive fines and even federal raids if they refuse to surrender the plants on demand.

Several years ago, Bridget Donovan, who has now been dubbed “The Lemon Tree Lady,” purchased a Meyer lemon tree from meyerlemontree.com. A resident of Wisconsin, Donovan purchased the tree legally and in full accordance with all federal and state laws regulating citrus transport, and had lovingly cultivated and cared for her indoor citrus plant for nearly three years.

Then, out of nowhere, Donovan received an unexpected letter from the USDA informing her that government officials were going to come and seize her tree and destroy it — and that she was not going to be compensated for her loss. The letter also threatened that if Donovan was found to be in possession of “regulated citrus” again, she could be fined up to $60,000.

Donovan was shocked, to say the least, as her tree was not a “regulated citrus.” The store from which she purchased it is fully legitimate, and she had done absolutely nothing wrong. But it turns out Donovan and many others who had also purchased similar citrus plants had faced, or were currently facing, the very same threats made against them by the USDA.

Most of those targeted simply surrendered their trees without trying to fight back, Donovan discovered. And while she, herself put up a hefty fight in trying to get honest answers in order to keep her tree, Donovan was eventually forced to surrender it as well. And worst of all, many of those who were told that a replacement tree would be in “compliance” later had those trees confiscated, too.

Why has the USDA been targeting lemon tree owners? The answer is unclear, other than that they are a supposed threat to the citrus industry. And a USDA official admitted to Donovan that the agency has been spying on those suspected of owning lemon trees, and targeting all found to be in possession with threats of fines and raids if they failed to give them up — and the agency has been doing this without a valid warrant.

“I felt utterly violated, angry, and upset,” Donovan is quoted as saying by HFA. “I pay my taxes, I obey the law, and this is how I was treated? I did nothing wrong. I would expect these action (sic) toward someone running a drug house, not someone who owned a lemon tree.”

Be sure to read Donovan’s entire shocking story here:

If you go back to the source article, the company that sold the lemon tree to her, in violation of a quarantine, made good on her loss. As it should be. The company violated multiple quarantine laws. The USDA tracked down the purchasers of the contraband products through the use of subpoenas.

The tree was mistakenly sold to her. The Department of Agriculture quietly replaced it for her and the rest of the story is complete hype. The tree was quarantined in her state to protect the citrus trees growing there. (And it was planted in her yard, not in her house.)

I think this is a wild goose chase, Orly. Maybe you can send Chantal in pursuit of it.

Maybe, they’re just getting a jump on the lemons so they don’t have to close down the lemonade stands later on.
Just when I think I’ve heard it all….

I have one of those trees and it will be a cold day in HELL before they take mine! It will be the shout heard around the world…not once but a hundred times! The disgusting part of the entire story is that these imbecile FDA agents are fellow Americans so freaking ignorant of our laws or so corrupt they behave like stooges instead of responsible citizens. It would be different if these FDA robot-wired zombies were foreign invaders who knew nothing about our law! As it is, it’s our own who know NOTHING about our law! May God spare us!

Hey! Lemon or other citrus trees don’t grow outside in Wisconsin! They certainly don’t grow in the YARDS in Wisconsin except in a pot in summer! Who came up with that story! Get real! I lived in Illinois for 23 years and know for a fact a lemon tree won’t survive 18 below zero weather…or even 28 degree weather for any length of time. LOL!

Fire up the Google and learn sumptin’. This tree was shipped in violation of quarantine. The company that sold it gave her a new one.

I might have another insight as to why the lemon trees were confiscated. More and more the fruit being sold in the US is being geneically altered, so that they do not have seeds with which the farmers can replant the following seasons. To consumers, it just seems convenient not to have to spit out seeds, but there is a much more sinister reason. When the farmers try to produce crops in the following season, or try to begin a new orchard, they must buy seeds from the people altering the fruit. I am in Thailand and I tried to bring a delicious lemon and orange from the US so I could have them here, but there were no seeds!

As I see it, this is distraction. Stick to the eligibility issue and don’t get into whether or not Obama can be held personally responsible for trying to confiscate a lemon tree.

I am the “lemon lady” and came across your website. Everyone is certainly entitled to his/her opinion, but I did want to clear up a few things. The USDA did not know my tree was infected, would not allow me to have it tested, and could not guarantee they would not come back and seize the replacement tree, as they had done to other people. They seemed to be uncertain as to what was considered a quarantined area, and when – it appears it keeps changing. They did not replace my tree, the company did, and the replacement tree is a joke. It’s a scrawny stick, and looks much sicker than my supposedly infected tree.

OK, Here in Florida where I live, a tremendous amount of folks have Lemon, Orange and other assorted Citrus trees on their property. I don’t hear about the Feds raiding them. I like getting fresh Lemons from some of my friends. They don’t mess with us because we all carry GUNS and we can use them down here, and our Sheriffs will stand up to the FEDS.

FL is one of the few great “carry” States.

In NY, like CA, the powers that be would rather have citizens carried to the morgue than allow citizens to carry.
