help needed

Posted on | June 23, 2013 | 14 Comments

suddenly I got a problem with my computer. When I try to attach newly scanned documents, my computer does not see them, as if I did not scan them a minute ago. When I try to move the docs from pictures to documents, the computer gets frozen, windows  explorer stops working. I get  message “windows explorer is not responding” How do I solve it?

Interestingly enough the whistle blower described something very similar happening with her computer. I thought that she might have gotten cold feet, but now I have the same problem with my computer.

What do I do?

I just (I think) fixed my today. Click on start, then click windows update. A new window will open. Your computer will check to see when the last time it was updated. I had to options to choose and only choose one and I choose important updates. I did not choose the optional one. I didn’t feel that was important.

Also if you have a Staples in your area they have a Tech center that will check out your computer look for problems, discuss them with you and possibly fix them for free. I live in Florida and I found out that the Techs were alway there. It might help.

Not updating programs can cause problems in your computer. I am not a computer tech I am just someone that has issues with my computer and I try like he## to fix them. Good Luck

    Orly,
For your information we have internet explorer. I keep getting warnings from the site that my computer is about to crash for several days. Now I get info that my computer needs cleaned up for virus infection. Beware!!

My security protection warns me that this is a scam and under any circumstances do not accept their offer!! So far I have resisted and my computer has not crashed and is still virus free. Maybe something like fake explorer has taken over your computer. Please check this
    out.

Your documents folder may only want text files. Make you a new folder for your picture documents and anme it pic docs or something.

Also be sure to keep the disks cleaned a lot because it builds up pretty quickly when you are fooling with picture documents. All the white place as well as the pictures or text is counted as bits. In you upper right corner is a gear. click on it and go to Internet options and then clean history. Then on the star that will say today,F F H (th His for history.) yesterday or last week: It will highlight or will if you have to click on it. When you click on it then hit delete. I do both, usually the star first, the gear and then go to start and pull up disk clean up. I do this a lot anymore during the day because the places I go to are likely monitored (like your own.) Always log out of your e-mail, etc.

That Ixquick search engine supposed to protect you a lot from snooping. I use my other home page along with it and switch back and forth.

Anymore it would probably to do this routine a lot when you are on the computer for awhile. It keeps mine cleaner. Good Luck. Let me know if it helps.

Also every onece in awhile you may need to turn your printer off to clean it out from what I call digital build up just in case if you are printing a lot.

If someone has used a copy of a document that has been copied from a copy machine,it is no longer a text document and will have to be stored in a picture file. Also I wrote a lot of other stuff and sent to you about disk cleaning and other things. I guess you knew all that, but anyway…

IE has a long history of issues and should not be used as a browser. Try using Chrome or Firefox and report if you get the same results.

None of them work well for long. There are elements in all of them designed to allow things there none of us need. They are geared to generate bucks. So, I guess it is all a bit of the “bait and switch” thing to some degree. Firefox comes on big and fizzles. I do not fool with chrome. I feel it would not be good for graphics if you are doing them, etc., but then again there are probably software that can work around that. I do not like any of them much. But then again, I do not like much of anything sometimes.

My computer keeps giving me all kinds of problems. Internet Explorer keeps telling me that I need to close it. Then Strongvault keeps coming coming on, and saying that I need to close it. Then Microsoft runtime Library keeps telling me I need to close it. Then, cloudfront.net, keeps coming, and telling me that I have to update their flashplayer. Then that 3×5 5 box keeps telling me that I need to update my flashplayer. And I have to look around it, to read the articles. I can get rid of it, sometimes, with my pop-up blocker, but it always comes back.

Now I see that half of my message is gone, I called Yahoo, and they said that I need to close out my browsing history, everyday. I guess I will have to try that .

More of my message is gone. I see it typed, and then it is gone. Yahoo said to call my Comp manu facturer. About the up dates being turned off. With love to all,
    Connie

I had trouble using my computer about this same time: Windows could not open any web pages or message said I had no internet connection (which was a fallacy). Now there is a report that shows “WASHINGTON – The National Security Agency has backdoor access to all Windows software since the release of Windows 95, according to informed sources, a development which follows the insistence by the agency and federal law enforcement for backdoor “keys” to any encryption, according to a report on the internet… Should we connect the dots??

Geez…thank God for webtv. None of this can happen! It’s a very closed system, but it does freeze up, if the establishment plays their jr high games with me!

Also, I’ve seen one type of (so-called) cleaner for the p.c. on tv. It’s called: or something like this. I don’t use this, so don’t know what happens. But the ad always says that this clears the “cobwebs” out of the p.c.?! Who knows?

One more time on the site:

Twice, someone/something has kept this url off of Dr Orlys’ Site. That means that (they) don’t want anyone learning about something that might be able to help p.c. owners???!
