Flaws won’t slow Feinstein down

One Republican says a California activist involved in the “birther” movement may have trouble making it to the top tier in the race against a longtime Democratic state senator.
Orly Taitz, a leading figure in the movement concerned about President Barack Obama’s birth certificate, is considering a 2012 run for the Senate seat against incumbent Democrat Dianne Feinstein. Taitz says she is a serious candidate because she speaks both Spanish and Hebrew and relates to minority voters. Feinstein’s ratings have dropped in the last several polls, and a strong Republican contender has yet to surface.
But Thaddeus Taylor, chairman of the Inyo County Republican Party, points out that because the state will be operating under a new voting system in the 2012 race, the two candidates with the most votes will run against each other in the general election. That means Feinstein’s contender could be a Democrat.
“Somebody is going to run against Dianne Feinstein. Now, if, in fact [it is] two Democrats — Dianne and somebody else … the somebody else is probably not going to be a fiscal conservative or a social conservative,” Taylor warns. “It’ll probably be somebody who is more liberal in these areas than Senator Feinstein. So that would be an interesting race.”
And the Inyo County Republican Party chairman predicts that Taitz will have a difficult time making it to the top tier.
“It doesn’t appear to me to be the ideal candidate for the Republican Party,” he admits. “Whoever decides to run against Dianne Feinstein is going to have to understand that fixing a problem that the United States faces is going to cause pain; there’s no way around it. And the longer the problem is put off, the more the ultimate pain will be.”
Although Feinstein’s campaign faces challenges — especially in light of the recent arrest of Democratic campaign treasurer Kinde Durkee, who is accused of stealing funds from Feinstein and other politicians — Taylor believes the longtime senator will still be a tough contender.

I read last week, somewhere, that Michael Reagan was thinking of running against Feinstein.
We need someone to run against Barbara Boxer this November 2011. I read she is running weak and would be easy to beat.
Orly, you should run against Boxer, if u can.
