What good are cheap goods in America made in China, Malaysia, and India if Americans here have no jobs or money to afford a damn thing??? That’s backasswards batshit crazy and suicidal insanity. America has lost over 5,000,000 manufacturing jobs since NAFTA became law on January 1st, 1994 thanks to Newt Gingrich and Billy Boy Clinton. It’s been analyzed that for every manufacturing job, approximately 4.7 ancillary jobs are dependent. Only approximately 0.98 job is dependent for every “service” job. America has become a service-only economy thanks to the whores we have elected in BOTH parties in DC. They stole our money with the TARP and bailouts and gave it to Wall Street for more overseas investments in OTHER economies. When you destroy a country’s manufacturing base, you destroy its real means of developing any meanigful weath and ability to remain solvent. That’s why China will be overtaking us GDP-wise by 2016. Vox Day has proven that free trade never worked for America. It has killed us.

    The problem with government solutions is that they always have unintended consequences and often make things worse. The great depression was made worse exactly because they thought tarrifs would help. They didn’t help back then, they made things worse, and they will make things worse today.

    If you put tarrifs on goods from china then the jobs will move from china to other countries. Then you’ll have to put tarrifs on goods coming from maybe india or vietnam . Then all those countries will put tarrifs on goods coming from the us and our exports will go down.

    Don’t you care about the jobs of americans working for firms that export goods to china and other countries?

    The US already imports more goods than it exports. Tarrifs won’t help that, they will make it worse.

    Carl you are so correct. My father taught me a long time ago… NOTHING is Free!
    Free Trade? For who? Its costing us our lives and Liberty.

    Carl Manning asks a very good question.

    He might want to address it to The Donald, Mr. Trump. He outsourced his ENTIRE line of clothing, The Donald Trump Signature Collection, to Red China.

    Not a yard of it, and not a button, is made in the USA. Donald Trump threw ALL of his clothing business to Red China.
