Ritze to File ObamaCare “Opt Out” Legislation

OKLAHOMA CITY – State Rep. Mike Ritze today said the voters of Oklahoma should have the opportunity to preserve their health care coverage even if Congress enacts sweeping changes at the federal level.

            To provide that opportunity, he will file legislation next year allowing a vote of the people to opt out of the proposed federal system.

            “Polling shows the overwhelming majority of Americans are satisfied with their health care coverage and do not want it taken away,” said Ritze, a Broken Arrow Republican who is also a board-certified family practice physician and surgeon. “Many of the proposals under consideration in Congress are likely to result in reduced access to a family doctor, rationing of services, or even outright denial of care if a bureaucrat decides it is not a ‘best practice.’ My legislation would give the voters the ability to protect and preserve their existing health care coverage.”

            Modeled on an Arizona proposal, Ritze’s legislation would place language on the ballot to amend the Oklahoma Constitution to declare what types of health care systems could lawfully exist in the state.

            The proposed constitutional amendment would

•          Prohibit any law or rule from directly or indirectly compelling any person or employer to participate in any health care system;

•          Allow any person or employer to pay directly for lawful health care services without paying any penalties or fines;

•          Permit a health care provider to provide directly purchased lawful health services without paying any penalties or fines; and

•          Stipulate that subject to reasonable and necessary rules that do not substantially limit a person’s options, the purchase or sale of private health insurance will not be prohibited.

            The amendment would not change what health care services a provider is required to perform or what health care services are permitted by law.

            “This is an issue that could have serious consequences for all citizens and it is only right to allow voters a direct role in the outcome of this debate,” Ritze said.

    It seems the only way to deal with the out of control government is fighting back forcefully and violently if necessary. We must take this country back at all costs! Peaceful means does not work anymore because of the evil we are dealing with. The revolution is coming and the politicians and the enemies of freedom will pay dearly! obama, you usurper, your days are numbered!

    Communism is always sold as a means to empower the people, but its true goal is empowering those who are selling it.

    Meaningless gesture.

    States can’t pass laws that contravene Federal
    law.

    Yippee, no one can hold those Oklahoma cowboys down, not for long. We Floridians (and all other states) must put the same legislation out and let our citizens decide. Somebody forgot to tell Reid and Pelosi it takes unusual power and brains to shove anything like this ObamaCare thing down our throats, and they are lacking in both. This will show the little illegal alien he does not own this nation nor its people; we are 50 states, united to show those who want to change us how we react.

    Oh yes, sometimes we get lazy, sometimes complacent, but somehow we seem to wake up in time to keep this free country ours. Yes, we know we owe our American founders something. That something happens to be: 1) gratitude for their courage and determination to give us this wonderful land with freedom for all; and 2) standing stalwart and ready, exposing an iron clad determination. Determination to portray a hard warning to those with ideas of converting what out founders built into a fragile and uneasy society without will power, without direction and without caring what happens to us or the earth on which we live.

    And the warning?

    The ideas are yours; just don’t try to convert them into reality.

    This might be totally off base, but nobody has addressed it. Obama, Pelosi, Reed, etc. fill their “big pockets” with money from our collective little pockets. Ritze’s legislation calls for citizens of Oklahoma to be exempt from participating in the federal healthcare system, but it does not exempt them from paying for it through higher taxes, cost of goods, reduced wages and all the other fees and/or charges that will be necessary to pay for Obama care.

    To be able to purchase their own insurance through private companies is a solution to the failing health care that will come with the federal plan. But it seems to me that insurance will have to be purchased in addition to what they will indirectly have to pay for Obama care whether they participate or not. And with a much smaller pool of insured, the rates for private insurance will be much higher. The big pockets will be able to afford this, but how about the little pockets?

    To be truly effective and meaningful, the legislation needs to include provisions for those states not participating in Obama care to recoup the additional expenses (above the premiums) imposed by that plan. Otherwise, we end up paying twice.

    Does everyone know that the dems put a condition in the HC bill that says it cannot be thrown out or changed–ever? So much of this bill is unconstitutional. They’ve got some nerve. More and more unbelievable. Everyday.

    as an attorney I can’t approve of violent means, though it is hard to achieve anything in the environment of massive corruption in the judiciary, department of justice, congress and government. I’s a recurrent nightmare, I am back in the communist Soviet Union, waiting for them to start sending people to FEMA camps GULAG
