does anyone have tickets to this January 24 meeting with Justice Scalia? I would like to attend and ask what in the World is the Supreme Court doing. Does anyone know how do I get a pass to the WH press conference?

Scalia Accepts Invite of Tea Party Leader, Criticized for ‘Exceedingly Poor Judgment’

Justice Antonin Scalia has accepted a speaking invitation from a Tea Party leader, drawing fire from some law professors and a liberal group.
Scalia will speak to incoming House members about the Constitution at the behest of U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., who founded the House’s Tea Party Caucus, the Los Angeles Times reports. The Jan. 24 topic will be separation of powers.
The meeting was described as bipartisan and open to all members of Congress. But several law professors who spoke to the newspaper criticized Scalia, saying the meeting appeared to politicize the court.
One of the critics was George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley. He told the Times that Scalia is showing “exceedingly poor judgment.” Nan Aron, the president of the liberal Alliance for Justice, also criticized Scalia in a news release. “Justice Scalia should protect the integrity of the court and cancel his appearance at this blatantly partisan, right-wing event,” she said.
M. Edward Whelan, president of the Ethics and Public Policy Center and a former clerk to Scalia, supported his mentor. “My guess is that, schedule permitting, Scalia would be happy to speak on the same topic to any similar group of members of Congress who invited him,” he told the Los Angeles Times.
Republican leaders have pledged to require their members to cite constitutional authority to support any legislation they introduce, and they plan to read the Constitution aloud on Thursday to show their support for the document. That plan also has critics, the Washington Post reports. They worry the document will be “misconstrued as the immutable word of God,” the story says.

I hope you do get to attend this meeting, Orly – your presence might spur Scalia to say something that could form the basis for his impeachment.

Scalia is meeting with freshmen Congressmen. Are you a newly elected Representative? White House press conferences are open to credentialed members of the press. Do you possess a valid WH-issued press pass?

I can’t reach a live person, can someone help me in getting the press pass, so I can go to the WH conferences and ask real questions?

Les Kinsolving from World Net Daily has a White House press credential/pass. Maybe you could ask WND if they could have Mr. Kinsolving loan you his press pass next time you’re in Washington, D.C., so you could attend a White House press briefing?
But that doesn’t help you with the 1/24 Scalia presentation, which is only open to the newly-elected congresspersons, and isn’t a public event at which Scalia is making an appearance and for which you can get a “ticket.”

Les Kinsolving hed his credentials for quite some time, even before WND. I saw Brian Fitzpatrick, he is friendly, as well as others from WND. Mr. Farah was actually very nice and flew me to DC to do a documentary about me, but they don’t have those credentials, as far as I know

Maybe Mr. Farah could sponsor you for your own White House press credentials. It sounds like he’d like to help you, and that would be a great way for you to get access everytime you’re in Washington, D.C. And also, wouldn’t that credential/pass also then automatically get you access to Obama’s other press-covered events in California, even an entrance onto Air Force One. I know that, whenever Obama travels, there are White House correspondents on the plane with him. That would be great!

he’ll throw me off the plane (and I mean without a parachute)

Orly, you usually need to actually be a member of the press (which you clearly are not) to obtain a WH press credential – you can’t just borrow one.
I’m glad you have such faith in Justice Scalia’s intellect. I’ll stand by my own less optimistic assessment, which is drawn mostly from my reading of his long history of inane, fact-free and historically- distorted legal writings. I’m sure you haven’t had a chance to look at any of those yet.
And you stole my “don’t hold your breath” line!
