   LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — An outspoken gun advocate from Virginia facing drug and firearms charges refused to speak while being arraigned Thursday morning and will remain in jail.

   Adam Kokesh, 31, was wheelchair-bound and handcuffed when he refused to respond to questions or identify himself during the hearing at the Fairfax County Courthouse according to media reports.

   The presiding judge told Kokesh he would take his silence as consent according to WUSA9 reporter Delia Gonçalves.

   The libertarian is charged with possession of Schedule I and II drugs as well as possessing drugs while in possession of a firearm following a police raid at his Herndon home Tuesday night.

   Kokesh is being held without bond as ordered by the judge. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 2.

   The raid on his home, led by U.S. Park Police, stemmed from a video he posted online of himself loading a shotgun on Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C.

   Possession of Schedule I and II drugs in Virginia is a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a maximum $2,500 fine.

   It is unclear whether federal authorities in Washington will charge Kokesh in connection to the gun loading video. Carrying a loaded firearm in the District is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine. The U.S. Park Police is handling that portion of the investigation.

   Kokesh is a former Marine who planned an armed march in the District on Independence Day. More than 2,500 people RSVP’d to attend the event on Facebook.

   Dear Congressman Michael Grimm (R-NY),

   I speak for myself and a sizable bloc of like-minded people who are furious with your apparent intention to vote to erase our borders and destroy our economy by the importation of tens of millions of new uneducated and unskilled people into our midst.

   These people will overwhelmingly vote Democrat so they can squeeze every last drop of blood out of the body of our beloved country. We’ve tried to talk to you about your legally mandated responsibilities to uphold the Constitution and protect our interests, but you seem to be ignoring what we have to say. Instead, you are listening to people like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, who tell you that unless you vote to provide (fill in your name for amnesty), Hispanics will never support you, and Republicans will never hold the White House again. Why you would believe this is a mystery. Such an assertion is bizarre and absolutely unsupportable on its face. Neither you nor anyone else can make the case that Hispanics will ever vote for Republicans under any circumstances.

   Take a look at what the 1986 Amnesty bill did to California. Your implied parroting of the Democrat Party line on the urgent need for “comprehensive immigration reform” without the slightest hint of self-consciousness speaks volumes about where your true loyalties are. You seem to believe that those of us who can see what is really happening should be addressed with this child-like foolishness about “comprehensive immigration reform”; but believe me, you are making a serious mistake.

   I remind you that we are not a mindless mob as you and your Republican colleagues choose to believe. We are the very people who worked 8 and 10 hours a day every day for months to get you elected. We can and most certainly will work just as hard to defeat you if you support any form of amnesty. We understand the issues. We understand that you are contemplating actually putting the future of our nation, and more to the point the future of our families, in the hands of Barack Obama, a narcissist who thinks he is a king one day and a dictator the next.

   Mister Grimm, what makes you believe that the so-called triggers for this or triggers for that will force King Barack to implement anything he doesn’t like? Don’t you see how naïve you sound with all of this high sounding talk and apparent trust in Barack Obama? The King didn’t like parts of his own Obamacare bill, so he merely declines to enforce what he doesn’t like. The king won’t like anything in your naïve “comprehensive immigration reform bill” that closes the borders, so he WON’T enforce what you vote for. He wants only one thing from this bill: Tens of millions of new Democrat voters.

   Perhaps the most insulting aspect of this issue is the used car salesman talk you and your colleagues use when talking up this amnesty bill. You babble about tough border security; they will have to get a job and learn English; they will go to the ‘end of the line.’ Let’s talk about these things. There already is a federal law in place requiring 700 miles of new fencing to be built on the southern border.

   Yet, contrary to the nonsense from Marco Rubio and his sidekick Paul Ryan, a future Congress cannot refuse to build THEIR new fence. Where is the fence Mr. Grimm? This kind of breathtaking arrogance is why your Party is losing members, and you are in danger of losing your seat next year. The Democrats don’t want the fence, so it will never be built; but they will lie and say they do to get their steady stream of new voters. Why would you want to help them?

   Get a job or be deported? Do you mean steal a job from the pitiful 47% of American adults who are still working? Is that what you want, Mr. Grimm? Learn English or by deported? Who will decide the English proficiency of uneducated illegal aliens – LaRaza? “Go to the end of the line or be deported?” What line – at McDonalds? Do you r-e-a-l-l-y believe this stuff, Mr. Grimm?

   Your choice is simple. You can either help save America, or you can help destroy it. If you vote for amnesty (and please don’t try to fool us with ‘I’ll never vote for blanket amnesty’ as that’s insulting), within two cycles, there will be 375 Democrats in Congress and at least 65 in the Senate. When that happens, all of your attempts at high-sounding rhetoric aimed at fooling people will mean nothing (and by the way, you will be unemployed.)

   I know that everyone who gets elected to anything instantly believes himself to be an expert in EVERYTHING, and you are apparently no exception. That said, let me say you are no political sage. Your willingness to force a loser like Mitt Romney on us to make it seem like you know about politics made you look foolish and ill-advised. You got 26,000 more votes than Romney last November. Doesn’t that tell you something? Don’t you see those 26,000 voters as already angry with the Republican Party and at least somewhat ready to be angry with you?

   Under no circumstances will you ever get the Hispanic vote. You are a Republican, and that disqualifies you in their eyes. If you vote for amnesty, LaRaza will give you a plaque called Miguel and vote Democrat anyway – it’s really as simple as that.

   Chuck Schumer is not your friend. Paul Ryan doesn’t know what he is talking about, and neither does Marco Rubio. If they did, they would debate the issue; but of course they won’t because they know they can’t defend their position.

   Because of my oath as a brother Marine and member of the Marine Corps League, I feel honor bound to tell you my plans in advance. If you do this, Mister Grimm, if you vote to destroy my family’s future and finish off what is left of America, I will consider it a direct attack on my family and my nation.

   That attack will be met with an all-out 24×7 effort to defeat you. Replacing you with a Democrat will mean nothing to me because in the overwhelmingly Democrat Congress to come ,the only way Staten Island would get anything is with a Democrat Representative. This is not a threat but an explanation of my position and what I see as my only possible response to your callous disregard for the future of my family.

   Since I believe you will betray America for a picture with Chuck Schumer and/or John Boehner, I’ll see you on New Dorp Lane in front of your office. I’ll be the guy wearing a sandwich board telling people what you have done and asking them to join me in re-registering as an Independent working against you and voting against you. I will fight you with every ounce of strength I have as any Marine who perceives a threat to America and his family would. I won’t be alone, so look for a tall man wearing a USMC cap.
