Congressman Collins: Romney is a self-serving egomaniac who puts himself first, who has a chip on his shoulder, who thinks he should be president of the United States

Congressman Chris Collins (R-New York) blasted the 2012 GOP standard-bearer on Monday.

“What do I know about Mitt Romney? I know that he is a self-serving egomaniac who puts himself first, who has a chip on his shoulder, who thinks he should be president of the United States,” Collins — the first House member to endorse Trump and now a member of his transition team — told CNN’s “New Day.”

“My concern is Mitt Romney is a bit of a lone wolf and might not take the advice or the direction of President-elect Trump. He is a lone wolf.”

Romney was one of Trump’s biggest critics among Republicans during the campaign season, calling the Manhattan real estate mogul a “phony, a fraud” and saying “dishonesty is Trump’s hallmark.”
