What is the nuclear option? How McConnell plans to get Gorsuch confirmed

Based on the planned cloture rules change  Gorsuch will be seated on the Supreme court Friday afternoon.

Anthony Kennedy stated previously that he is planning to retire. After Gorsuch is seated, it will be a good time for the retirement, while Republicans have the White House and the senate. Trump will be able to replace Kennedy, who is about 80, with a much younger judge, who is between 50-60, so Republicans will be assured that this seat is in their hands for the next 20-30 years. After that, Trump will need to wait and see if Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who is about 84 and Stephen Breyer, who is about 80, decide to retire. Trump might be able to appoint as many as three or four Supreme Court justices.
