Unfortunately, a ‘tax’ on imported goods won’t make Americans’ buy the more expensive ones made in America, nor will it prompt investment in America because of the cost to do business because of ‘government’ interference (like taxes on markets). A $1000 I-phone won’t sell. They aren’t made here because of the minimum wages laws and government regulations make it impossible to produce at the price consumers are willing to pay. Just like a hike in the ‘minimum wage’ for burger flippers will make the cost of a hamburger $10, consumers will just quit buying them and all of those jobs will be lost. GET RID OF THE REGULATIONS AND TAXES and we CAN compete without TARIFFS! Tariffs are a farce and have never solved such problems, it’s a tax on American consumers, as the money collected in taxes comes from Americans. It’s self cannibalism.

are you stupid? you can get rid of all the regulations and all the taxes, there is still a huge difference between $10 per hour in US and $1 per hour in China. Can you work for $1 per hour? Can you feed your family on $1 per hour? no. so why are you repeating the same establishment garbage

Right you are, Orly! Hey Patrick, NAFTA HAS BEEN A CHAMBLES on America. Tariffs kept prices and things in balance for decades!

And remember, the lefties are the ones that thought that free trade was great! Our govt has been duping us for far too long!
