GOP (RINO) cowards like Issa are as much a part of the problem as Democrats. When the going gets tough, they cash in their chips, collect their winnings and go home.

Ronnie, you are a Dem and hate Issa. He served honorably for many years. He is in his mid 60s, wants to spend time with his family, this is his right. There are great Republicans in that area, such as the mayor of San Diego, Kevin Falkner, and others, who can and will run

Why do you say I am a Dem? Look at all the congressman and senators who serve effectively into their 80s. Issa could fight for his district but he’s more or less handing his seat the Democrats. He’s a quitter a a traitor to the party.

Are some of these Republicans retiring because they want a Democrat majority in Congress? Many Republicans are, effectively, Democrats.

if you look at the comments on Gateway Pundit, they are all pretty upset with Issa.

Diane Harkey is running. She is a very strong candidate, won the position on the board of equalization with 60%. I believe, she will do well

you can’t force a person to run for office. Sometimes, it might cost this person millions of dollars of his own money to run. Will you pay this money our of your own pocket? I am sure you wouldn’t. So, you can’t judge him. If he feels, he can’t do it any more, he can’t put any f his own money into the race anymore, that is his decision.
If you want, you can run for office. Let me know how it went.

You are right, Orly. I don’t know Issa and he may have good personal reasons. But it does seem like an awful lot of GOP incumbants are going wobbly and heading for the exit when we need them most. The first midterm is usually very difficult for POTUS’ party and this looks like no exception.

what they need to do, is end those ridiculous Trump-Russia investigations, as there is no collusion, exonerate Trump and pass the bills reflecting the promises

Manny of these Quitters both democratic and republican are NOWHERE near very old age so SOMETHING here is HIGHLY suspicious! It IS QUITE ABNORMAL for so manny Congressmen Leaving AT THE SAME TIME and SOMETHING IS definitely in the wind!

they might be doing internal polling and finding out that they are behind by 10%, so they decide not to spend money on a losing campaign
