No Kidding!
PRICELESS AND BRIEF….
In a bid to stem taxpayer losses for bad loans guaranteed by federal housing agencies Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) proposed that borrowers be required to make a 5% down payment in order to qualify for a loan.
His proposal was rejected 57- 42 on a straight party-line vote because, as Senator Chris Dodd (D-Conn) explained, “Passage of such a requirement would restrict home ownership to only those who can afford it.”
And these folks are running the country………….

Yes – Homes should be purchased by those who can afford them.

This is a core principle of the Democratic party. According to their platform, ownership of property should not only come from what a person earns but from what another person earns. They view that that role of government is to redistribute wealth and property from those who earn it to those who don’t. The sad thing is, there are enough people who benefit from theft by government that Democrats keep getting elected.
