After dead heat predictions in GB, Conservatives beat left by 14%, similar to what happened in Israel. Why polls are so wrong again and again?

All the polls predicted a dead heat election in GB. At the end Conservatives won with 14% margin. Similarly, in the recent election in Israel Labour was predicted to win according to all the polls, yet on the election day conservatives won. A am wondering, why the polls are so wrong again and again. Could it be that the polls are created to shape the public opinion and not to gage it? Currently, the polls are showing Clinton leading for general election in 2016 with 2-7% margin depending on which GOP candidate is the nominee, however, I an wondering if we will see in 2016 a repeat of what happened yesterday in England and a month and a half ago in Israel, meaning GOP presidential candidate winning the election in spite of polls giving advantage to Clinton. what do you think?

Most of todays polls and pollsters are like the old fashioned drive to the market cowboys. They think people are like sheep or cattle to be herded in their direction.

I agree. A few years ago, I noticed Fox was beginning to talk “polls” and Now they talk polls everyday. I believe it is to push the undecided in the direction they wish for politics to go and I think it is the WRONG direction for America.
