Is President Barack Obama’s citizenship still in question?
State Rep. Ed Emery, a Lamar Republican who plans to run for the state Senate, thinks so, and says for that reason that he this week attended an event on behalf of his constituents.
His attendance Wednesday at an event at which Orly Taitz, a California dentist and lawyer, continued to challenge Obama’s citizenship has Emery at opposites with House Speaker Ron Richard, a Joplin Republican, on the matter.
“I don’t think it’s an issue,” said Richard, who is known for blunt reactions. “I’m not concerned about that. We have no jurisdiction to look at something like that, and I wasn’t consulted about this meeting.’’
Even though concerns over Obama’s citizenship have been widely debunked by state officials in Hawaii, and even though the U.S. Supreme Court has declined to even give the notion a thought, Emery says he remains unconvinced.
Emery said he was at the event Wednesday at a Jefferson City hotel to listen to Taitz’s arguments and hear her evidence. He was the only recognized legislator at that meeting.
Later that day, Taitz spoke at St. Louis. In attendance there were state Rep. Cynthia Davis, R-O’Fallon, and a representative of state Rep. Jim Lembke, R-Lemay. They, too, said they attended to hear Taitz’s position.
Taitz alleged that Obama was born in Kenya, the home country of his father; that Obama has failed to produce a true copy of his Hawaii birth certificate; the birth documentation he has produced may be a forgery; that the president has falsified his Selective Service papers and his application to the Illinois bar; and that the president may have as many as 25 Social Security numbers.
Taitz maintains that without an acceptable version of his birth certificate, it’s impossible to know if Obama was born in Hawaii and, thus, whether he qualifies as a “natural-born citizen’’ as required by the Constitution.
In response to reporter inquiries about his attendance at the meeting, Emery released an official statement on Friday.
Emery said he attended the meeting “because lots of claims have been made and he has never seen any responses to them that settle the issue. The courts have chosen not to accept this on review.’’
As an elected representative, Emery said he took an oath “to defend the Constitution. I felt like this was important and that serious questions have been raised. I attended the event out of an interest and obligation to my constituents and the Constitution, and it was my duty as a state representative.’’
He said he did look at Taitz’s documentation, but “she had a lot of documents there and has done a lot of traveling and spent a lot of money on the legitimacy of his citizenship and how well they have satisfied the constitutional obligations.”

We need to drive a silver stake into the heart of the matter and state emphatically that not only is his place of birth an issue, but so are his citizenship, his Marxist ideology, his unconstitutional and destructive executive actions, his total lack of ethics and his scurrilous associates.
All anyone has to do is open their eyes. Look at his blitzkrieg Marxist takeovers since he has been in office. Look at his associates: a revolutionary communist domestic terrorist and murderer, Bill Ayers (that alone should tell us plenty); Blago, a corrupt clown; Jeremiah Wright, an anti-American black “theologian”; Tony Rezko, convicted felon; and all his corrupt appointees who violate the Constitution every time they open their mouths. Look at his policies and statements. They are all very ant-American.
There’s an old Spanish proverb: “Tell me who you walk with and I’ll tell you what you are.” His associates tell us who he is.
The man hasn’t produced the documents; he should be removed from office. If you failed to produce a teaching certificate, law license, or plumber’s license they wouldn’t allow you to even fill out an application, let alone employ you. It’s beyond comprehension as to why an exception should be made for the most prestigious and powerful position in the world.
Perhaps we need to start calling for a removal from office and forget the birth certificate issue. That might get some one’s attention!

Obama on Jan 24, 2009 sends a letter congratulating them on a children’s hospital and goes on to state that he was born in that hospital. How many times has it been investigated that no hospital in Hawaii has a record of him or his mother having been a patient there, and one of the first things I’m going to do as president is send a letter off to the hospital I was born in. You don’t know whether to laugh or cry. This is too weird for words. I think by trying to ignore the obvious to me by making it obvious and unnecessary- this letter is just plain dumb.

Ron Richard feels it is best to side with opinion rather than fact or the pursuit of legitimacy.
To set the record straight, which as of now there is no record, there must be an inquiry of force enough to outweigh the legal stonewalling. I will suggest that all who are involved in this effort to continue the secreting of the official documents required to prove eligibility are in fact committing treason. The harm done is weakening our constitution as people from all corners of the globe are watching this issue in disbelief. How can a nation survive under its own laws if it can not enforce them? We are diminished in ways that are obviously very dangerous to foreign policy as well as internally motivated groups whose entire existence is to tear down the republic and establish some grand experiment of hope and change. Treason! It is giving aid to the enemy as well as active support and war is not always when bullets fly, war is also ideologically waged. The truth will emerge one day and on that day all those who slighted the oath they swore to uphold the constitution should be concerned with their failure to respond when they were called upon to defend the law.

It is folly, I think, to underestimate how many Americans are mesmerized by foreign traditions. Never mind that socialized medicine makes life a privilege for the healthy and the people with the right political connections. Never mind that oppressive governments make life’s necessities scarce and expensive, if you can even find them.
Most Republicans are leery of removing a President from office because the Nixon-hatingDemocrats played the main role in removing President Richard Nixon from office because of Watergate. They believe that removing a Democrat President from office would pave the way for the next Republican President to be removed on the basis of weak trumped-up charges.
