So, this is saying that government employees should be forced to attend Christian gatherings?

no, government employees should not be forced to attend specific religious services or event. This was not a police matter, this was not a case, where police had threats of bodily harm and were dispatched to a mosque to prevent violence. This was a private event, where imam wanted a meeting at the mosque to talk about Islam to promote positive perception of Islam and policemen should not have been forced to attend. They should be able to make their own decision if they want to attend.
