I’m no fan of the current economic policies and I do not believe the economy is recovering – but this InfoWars article is baloney. The fact that those stores are failing has very little to do with the false recovery and has much more to do with their poor business models and inability to adapt to the changing competitive landscape. All of ten companies listed are dated, offering poor product selection, sub-par service and less-than-competitive pricing. The reality is each of the named companies is getting their clocks cleaned by Amazon. These companies are dying, and rightly so, because they cannot compete. Demanding that they survive in spite of their inadequacies is akin to Affirmative Action. This is simple economic Darwinism. Alex Jones is fear mongering on this one.

I’d say that Itchik has it pegged.

In my area, we have lost both K-Marts.

One of the two major plazas have gone down.

But…strangely, the Christmas sales season was a boon to the retail establishment.

And online sales is easy, since we’ve had such an arctic vortex to deal!
