    If it was a Democratic ex-president charged with what Trump is charged with, conservatives would see nothing wrong in the prosecutions. If Trump gambles on winning, he makes a huge mistake. He’d be better advised to listen to his lawyers and find a way to plead charges down to misdemeanors and take non-custodial sentences. The alternative is a likely loss on enough of the indictments to end in jail, and for state convictions he can’t pardon himself.

    there is no precedent. I believe Trump will argue that he can pardon himself in state courts as well, particularly GA case which revolves around the presidential election, clearly a federal issue, crime against the US, which he is allowed to pardon
