Photograph: Yuri Gripas/ReutersAmong the disparate groups of Barack Obama‘s detractors, the conspiracy theorists known as the ‘birthers’, who believe he is an alien interloper trying to destroy America from within, are among the most tenacious. Now the new governor of Hawaii has vowed to take them on and end the speculation.

Neil Abercrombie, who took over the governor’s office in Honolulu earlier this month, is pledging to burst the birther bubble. “I’m going to take care of that,” he told the New York Times.

For Abercrombie, the dispute is personal. He was a friend of Obama’s parents, Stanley Ann Dunham and Barack Obama the elder who was studying at the University of Hawaii on an exchange from his native Kenya.

Though Abercrombie was not present at the birth of the younger Barack at Kapiolani Maternity and Gynaecological hospital on 4 August 1961, he did get to see the baby thereafter. He regards the on-going background noise of doubts surrounding Obama’s US citizenship as an insult to his late friends.

“[Obama’s] a big boy; he can take sticks and stones. But there’s no reason on Earth to have the memory of his parents insulted by people whose motivation is solely political. Let’s put this particular canard to rest,” he said.

The governor is working with Hawaii’s attorney general and health department to find ways of producing definitive evidence of Obama’s Hawaiian birth. Full disclosure is restricted under the state’s privacy laws.

The idea that Obama is not a natural-born American first surfaced in 2008 during the presidential campaign. In an attempt to kill it, the Obama campaign released his certificate of live birth and allowed it to be closely studied by fact-checking websites who declared it authentic. Birth notices were also confirmed from the time in the local Honolulu Advertiser.

But at every stage, the birthers have responded with further demands and additional objections.

Orly Taitz, a prominent birther based in California, said that even if Abercrombie produced everything she would be suspicious of his motives. “To me this sounds like a very co-ordinated effort. As soon as a friend of the Obama family gets into the governor’s office he has access to all the documents. I would put nothing past this establishment.” Taitz said she would only be satisfied if she and a private detective she works with were granted access to all the original paper work and allowed to carry out tests.

Earlier this month an army doctor, Lieutenant Colonel Terrence Lakin, was sentenced to six months in prison and thrown out of the military after he failed to turn up for a tour of duty in Afghanistan, arguing that because of Obama’s foreign birth his orders as commander-in-chief were illegal.

Taitz said that she was now trying to turn the Lakin story into a musical, and is appealing for Andrew Lloyd Webber to contact her.

The birthers will be focusing their efforts in the new year to pushing so-called “elegibility bills” onto the floor of individual state assemblies. These would require any future presidential or vice-presidential candidate to produce their birth certificates ahead of mounting a bid for the White House.

Proposals are likely to be brought in a number of states, including Arizona which has already passed such a measure in its House of Representatives, Georgia, Texas, Missouri, New Hampshire and Oklahoma. An attempt to pass an elegibility bill at federal level failed in Congress last year.

   OKAY BULLSHIT ARTIST.

   Dr. Taitz has a writ of centori at SCOTUS,
   with a conference set for Jan. 7, 2011.

   Why did Obama wave his right to respond?
   Why did’nt Obama present SCOTUS with his COLB?

   Reasons:
   1-A Hawaiian COLB is not Prima Fascia evidence in a court of law.

   2-Any one can get a Hawaii COLB by just filling out a form. It is not proof of anyrhing.

   3-The COLB’s that Obama posted on his web site were forgeries.

   4-If there was along form birth certificate on file for Obama why did’nt he request a current COLB? instead of using a forged one?

   Answer To all of the above:
   There is no COLB or Long Form Birth Certificate on file in Hawaii for Obama.

   Because he was born in Kenya.

   Orly:…the post by politijab is really not the correct location for the production. It concerns an American military LTC…so this would need to be performed HERE in America! And to as large of an audience as possible, each time the play is on stage!

   Hollywood would call this type of acting “summer stock”! Where one goes to “maybe” ONE location, that has a very large draw of population that enjoys a play…and stay for a period of time? Or…as you have written:…a play can have a bus tour, as well. And that would really come to financially raising enough $$ to accomplish this project.

   Also, with the content of this play…one should consider “where ARE the best locations?”
   My advice is to: stay away from “volatile” areas that might “react to this play in a ‘negative’ way!”

   Although, I can think of one in the midwest, where they have a “dinner and a play combo,” for the evening! It’s called a “dinner theater”! But this was back in the 60’s or 70’s, that I remember! And do not know right now, if this spot is still functioning or not?
   I will see if I can check into this and get back with you, once your plans are progressing?

   Also, how many parts would be involved? Are you going to be in this production? Keep us informed.

   Orly:…this new Hawaii governor is forgetting one BIG ASPECT of this entire matter…: He may not have remembered that (“Obama ‘DIDN’T’ have 2 parents that were born on American soil!!!

   And…as the talk has it…that I’ve read someplace, recently, that “whomever” is going to try to “come up with a ‘LONG-FORM B.C.'” to try to “throw” everyone off the trail!

   But with my first statement above, along with the fact that this guy has used 39 social security numbers (“Holy ‘Corruption-Con,’ Batman!”), Obama will try “anything” to “stay in the White House! I wouldn’t trust Obama, Soros, nor that new governor, especially since he has already admitted to having known Obamas’ parents!

   And if they do try to come up with a “long-form B.C.,” why would they wait till the “2nd Coming” to produce this thing? That alone is wildly “fishy!” IMO, corrupt people do not have the capacity to be “truthful” nor “trustworthy”! So…I just had a “flash”!

   Orly, is it possible that the Supreme Court “might” go for “discovery,” and then, this governor will try to “prank everyone off” by producing the “long-form”? But it will be a “decoy”…a way to shut us up? They’ve had a great deal of time to plan and execute this “possible” fraud?

   Which means…can you also add this info to your case before the Supreme Court:…”that if the B.C. is found to be ‘real,’ then, you want this case to also include ‘discovery’ for the fact that both of his parents ‘WERE NOT!’ American citizens”!!! Cause we all know that
   ‘ONE OF HIS PARENTS’ was born in a “foreign county”!!! And (“that makes him ‘ILLEGAL’ as sin itself!”)

   This, then, makes the discovery with the “foreign born father” the “ultimate BOTTOM, LINE” coup! Hmmm…and maybe the “surprise” one of the posters who posted that word, recently, sees and knows(?) that Obama is going to try this “angle”?

   So if you have time…and are able to “add” some info to your case (so you can “box him in”), I’d include as much damaging info as possible! Cause the “Father Angle” is completely a “concrete issue” that Obama CANNOT refute!!!! And to have him also “hit” with the usage of “39 social security numbers” would also be devastating to his political future, as well…!!!!!!
