My predictions

My predictions, that by the end of this day we will have

30 Republican Governors, 18 Democrat, 2 Independents

248 Republican Congressmen, 187 Democrat

Senate races are the closest. Republicans are poised to gain seats, but it is not clear how much. I believe, that they will go up from 41 to 49 or 50.  All eyes will be on Washington state and there will not be results for a while, as it is a mail ballot state. There will be an interesting dynamic if  Dino Rossi wins. We might have 50 Republicans, 48 Democrats and 2 Independents. These 2 Independents used to caucus with the Democrats, which would give the Dems 50 and Biden will be the tie braker. However, things might change. Though Sanders will surely caucus with the Dems, Liberman might be a surprise and he might cast his vote for Mitch McConnel for the Senate Majority  leader. This might happen because of Obama’s disastrous foreign policy  and National security moves. Liberman might put his  conservative National security stance ahead of his typically liberal social views. This might be a very interesting development, we’ll have to wait and see.

Do not forget to count the Democratic Senators and House members.
I lived in the South for 5 years and they vote Democratic in Mississippi only elections and Republican in Federal elections.
If there are any Democratic Senators or House members they will back up the Republicans against anything Obama.
The South voted around 70% for McCain. So do not think the South will have anything to do with Obama in any vote in Congress.
