(UPDATED) Orly Taitz, the dentist-cum-lawyer-cum-Birther leader, yesterday posted on Facebook the above picture of herself with incoming House Majority Leader Eric Cantor. Taitz put the image in an album titled “12/27/10,” suggesting it was taken Monday, though that could not immediately be confirmed.

Taitz is hands down the leading Birther in the country, and she has pursued her cause through an endless series of frivolous court cases and high-profile media appearances. Is it possible that Cantor did not know whom he was posing with? Maybe. But it turns out this is not the first time that Cantor and Taitz have crossed paths.

In July 2009, Taitz claimed that Cantor’s acceptance of her friend request on Facebook showed that he (and a few other GOP leaders) believed in the Birther cause. This led to a series of articles in the Washington press, and Cantor’s spokesman was forced to deny that Cantor countenanced the Birther cause.

Taitz, for her part, seems to gravitate toward high-profile GOP events. Over the summer, she –along with several members of Congress — was a special guest at a Republican Jewish Coalition party at the Beverly Hills Hilton.

According to her blog, Taitz has lately become preoccupied with writing a play — tentatively titled, “An American POW in America” — that tells the story of Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, the Birther Army doctor who was convicted this month of not following orders because he believes Barack Obama was not born in the U.S.

We’ve reached out to both Cantor’s office and Taitz, and we’ll update this post if we hear back.

UPDATE: Mystery solved! According to this report, the snapshot was taken this past September at an event featuring Cantor and Chris Cox at the Newport Beach Balboa Bay Club.

    Look, I have been following this Birther so called thing for a long time–and yes Orly is the queen and leader– the other phase out too intimidated by ALL the court loses–discovery being a non issue with the courts and one bolsters the other until neglect in the courts themselves civilian or military casts major doubts on this conformist Obama intimdated arab paid for system here.
    Everyone should support and read Brigette Gabriels book: BECAUSE THEY HATE–she is emphatically on point and now this liberal rag in –Times-Union Jacksonville has her under attack on the front page Because Parvez Ahmed is being installed to the citys Human Rights Commission. Brigette has his number and she in her book explains how they flim flam the naive and stupid liberal press here. Caire is another example of a group using US law to protect it self while promulgating and supporting hamas and others UNDER our STUPID naive noses– Put Gabriel and orly in charge and things would change– as it stands the sub rosa phony nice guy covil rights from is working here with the libs in control, but the stupid libs don’t realize that the Jihadist and radical islam want THEIR heads on a plate.

    I am coming to the concludion that the system here under the illusion of controlling thimngs and yes enfoorcing things is going to collapse under its own obtuse, trusting weight as the tach goes into the chaotic red zone-

    The radical moves will come out of a period of deconstruction no recourse reaction. It starts slow and small groups are punished hard, and then larger groups form in support.They keep telling us to eat cake and maybe one day after the Ox carts and guilltines are brought to DC and set up beore the Capitol and the White House hungry rats will come out from dark corners and start nibling on their toes.

    There should–no doubt should be a military presence protesting in DC-on a steady organized and regulatr basis—“SHAME ON YOU BARRY” “DO THE RIGHT THING, STEP DOWN”

    But back to Gabriel featured on the fron pasge of this rag–it is Move on–Soros– surely a prime candidate for extinction that is now placing Gabriel under attack and this is a smart, strong and sturdy lady–read her book:”Because They hate”—written with passion, verve and commitment.

    My suggestion to orly–write a book–with a huge appendix organized and containing all her court submissions. The other thing is Clinton– the husband- making appearances as Hillaris is sharpening her teeth and preparing to attempt to throw Barry out. His party has no use for him ( of course we have no use for them) his controllers are beginning to see to many flaws in his ego driven manner–

    I predict Hillary will be VP before 2012, and then president before 2012– and the radical jihadist Barry Soetoro aka Obama will become Secretary general of the UN–a save face gesture after having essentially been thrown out. He is not going to win in 2012– too many see him as too self involved and oblivious to the real needs of the people whose wrath is growing–
