Do we really want congressional committees investigating universities they disapprove of? Because this will come back to bite. What if the Senate, controlled by Democrats, decides to go after the mint julep universities in the south, or the Christian universities? Harvard’s mistake was appointing an academic to what is mostly an administrative job. Columbia avoided that as their new President has deep experience running a smaller college. And in England that’s the standard – start at a lesser institution, do it well, and then move to a top-tier university.

The problem was that Claudine Gail was an embarrassment to Harvard. There are 50 examples brought forward of plagiarism. Any student would have been expelled for even one incident, never mind 50. Additionally, at the congressional hearing this idiot couldn’t even answer a simple question, whether a call for genocide of Jews is against Harvard policy. I believe she was appointed in the first place simply because they wanted diversity and wanted to appoint a black woman, not because she was qualified. Time to appoint bright, brilliant qualified people. How about someone who is a Noble price winner, who will bring pride to the university
