Explanation re SS number

I have explained this point before, but since I keep getting the same question again, I will explain it again.
Social Security administration started assigning numbers in the thirties, however it doesn’t mean that people who were born before didn’t get any numbers. Majority of US citizens got their numbers in the thirties, some got them later, as they applied later, typically when they were older and needed some type of medicaid assistance, therefore there is no discrepancy in the fact that older individuals got their SSNs later.
