Yediot Aharonot believes that, “If information is received to the effect that Iran is close enough, too close, to a nuclear bomb, and all efforts to prevent this have failed, Netanyahu – but any other Israeli Prime Minister as well – will make only one decision.”
Ma’ariv notes that, “An automatic majority of dark states control most international forums… Arch-terrorists such as Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh feel that they are standing tall. They will continue to advance the international murder industry, while they live at the five-star level. And what do those posing as moralists propose? They supply the barons of murder with their defense. Noam Chomsky and Norman Finkelstein make a pilgrimage to Hezbollah; British parliamentarian George Galloway and Nobel Prize winner Mairead Maguire make pilgrimages to Hamas; and philosophers Alain Badiou and Salvoy Shishak provide a romantic halo for radical Islam and to terrorism. They always know that others are to blame. The West, Capitalism, the Zionists. Their present stand is a natural continuation of their perpetual one. They are always on the dark side.”
Yisrael Hayom says that, “The European Union Foreign Ministers, who met yesterday in Brussels , issued a condemnation of the use of EU passports in Dubai , in the elimination of senior Hamas figure Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh. Almost concurrently, the government of Afghanistan announced that at least 27 civilians, including four women and children, were killed the other day in a NATO airstrike in the southern part of the country. About ten days ago, NATO forces initiated the largest military operation against terrorism since October 2001. Orders were very clear this time: Minimum civilian casualties, even if it means less harm to Taliban forces…But since the start of Operation Mushtrak (together) three unpleasant incidents have occurred, in which dozens of civilians, including at least six children, have been killed.
The question begging to be asked is: Where is Goldstone? Could it be that there is a double standard in our world? The Afghan government and NATO HQ have already issued a statement that the tragic incident will be investigated. Friends, we’re in Afghanistan , not Gaza . The world is hypocritical? Heaven forbid. NATO was not given a license to kill for two reasons: The international consensus around the war on terrorism in the wake of 9/11, and a coalition that has been built which includes the European fathers of morality.
But in the Middle East , things appear differently. In the normal world, the elimination of Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh is a part of the world effort against terrorism. In our world – Al-Mabhouh was eliminated, according to the French Foreign Minister, because there still is no Palestinian state. At this rate, the NATO commission of inquiry will declare that 44 Afghani civilians were killed because a Palestinian state has yet to be created. In a hypocritical world – everything is possible.”
