Abortion rights stopped the red wave. It is imperative that GOP runs candidates that allow women to terminate pregnancies early on, in the first trimester or GOP will be crushed in the future elections, De Santis will not become the president in the future if he passes 6 weeks ban

This year was the best opportunity for the GOP to gain large number of seats in the House and the senate. The inflation is rampant, high crime, millions of illegals invaded the country, fentanyl deaths, yet GOP barely gained enough for the majority in the House and it is a big question mark whether it can take the senate. What happened? Reversal of Roe v Wade and the fight for Abortion rights. Most people in this country believe that women should have a right to terminate an unplanned pregnancy in the first trimester, or first 13 weeks or up to 15 weeks. 69% of unmarried women voted for the Democrats. 63% of young people, 18-30 years old voted for the Democrats. As time goes by, these young people will get older and would still support those abortion rights with some limitations, such as 13-15 weeks.
It is time for the GOP leadership to face this reality and support the candidates who support limited rights for abortion, up to 15 weeks.
If GOP continues running candidates who support complete bans on abortion or very harsh 6 weeks bans, these candidates would have a very hard time winning future races and particularly the most important race for presidency.
Ron De Santis is considered to be a rising star in the GOP. Currently, Florida has a reasonable limitation on abortion, 15 weeks and 6 days. However, De Santis is said to contemplate a 6 week ban on abortion in Florida. If he does that, he will have an extremely hard time getting elected the US president, probably will get defeated, as women consider this ban to be too harsh. If De Santis passes 6 weeks abortion ban in Florida and runs for president, he will have an extremely hard time winning swing states of Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan. It is time for the GOP to wake up and respond to the will of the voters on this issue. In the future economy might not be that bad, inflation will go down, it will be harder for the GOP to win, and if GOP does not run candidates who support some limited abortions, they will be crushed in future elections.

So principles be damned and just change them to get elected?

people have different principles. Some have principles that in the first trimester the fetus is the size of a bean, not formed yet and a woman should have a right to terminate this pregnancy

Indeed they do Dr. Taitz, but GOP legislators (and the Christian nationalists behind them, as well as former President Trump) have said that abortion is murder from the point of conception. Alito said the same. So for them to climb down now looks opportunistic.

He is going for 2024. Trump overplayed his hand. He thinks his base will get him elected and he’s been repelling GOP moderates and obviously failing to attract Conservative Democrats. Americans are tired of the childish insults. The full MAGA just doesn’t work. We saw that last week. His November 15 “special announcement” will be a bust and it won’t prevent him being indicted. Time for the GOP to move on and get behind a younger stronger candidate.

America does not have a party problem (Dem/Rep) or a political issue problem. America has a morality problem. One that gets worse with each generation. Politics or party will not change the direction this country it’s going. Communism is the future of this country unless the morality problem is fixed. God will allow her enemies to overtake her. America lies in ruins. As Jerusalem was so America is as her ” walls are broken down, and her gates are burned with fire” The enemy encroaches every day and transforms her landscape with foreigners who do not hold her values. The are coming to be a part of a demolition and we greet them with open arms.
A quote from Norman Thomas, six-time Socialist Party candidate for POTUS demonstrates this fact; and this quote is from the early 20th Century, note the last sentence in particular:
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the
name of “liberalism,” they will adopt every fragment of the socialist
program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without
knowing how it happened. I no longer need to run as a Presidential
Candidate for the Socialist Party, The Democratic Party has adopted our
platform.”

JD Collier,
Social Security is socialism and it is working wonderfully. A little socialism is a good thing. Democrats like me are no more communist than the man on the moon. We are just smarter than you.
Also, there is no god you moron. Are you a child?

Dwight, are you a moron or are you that corrupt? How in hell is Social Security Socialism when the Government is stealing your money? How do you think many of the social programs are financed? When they run out of money they dip into SS, just like they financed the Vietnam Conflict!

Eddy boy, what principles are you talking about? You and yours don’t have any, so stop preaching moral values when you and yours have none!
