Be honest with me.
Did you have a strong feeling that most California voters agree with YOU about needing to cut annual legal immigration, and to cut it by a lot?
I certainly didn’t. The results of a new Pulse Opinion Research poll in California astounded me.
Sure, I could believe one result that 34% of voters answered that they would like annual immigration to be less than 250,000 (compared to the current one million). I know there are still many people in California like you.
But elected officials of California are overwhelmingly so open-borders radical, I just assumed most voters feel the same way as the people they elect.
Surprisingly, the scientific survey found that only 32% of likely midterm voters in California said they want to keep annual immigration at one million or more!
By a 2-to-1 margin, likely California voters said they want immigration cut to 750,000 or less per year. (See more details on the poll below.)
NumbersUSA HAS STARTED A TV/SOCIAL MEDIA AD CAMPAIGN TO INSPIRE AMERICANS TO DEMAND CUTS IN LEGAL IMMIGRATION
To back up and to encourage the majority of Americans who want legal immigration cut, NumbersUSA last week began the second phase of its massive advertising campaign on broadcast TV, cable and all kinds of social media.
Our first three chalkboard ads — started just before Christmas — focused on the absurdity of chain migration.
Our new ad attempts in 30 seconds to imprint on viewers’ minds the fact that immigration today is not normal — that the numbers have quadrupled since the 1950s.
Secondly, the ad campaign attempts to give Americans the confidence that they are in the majority in wanting to dial the numbers back. (We knew this was true about Americans nationally, but only learned about Californians being like Americans in this regard after this new Pulse Opinion Research poll.)
Click on the image below to view the ad.

The ad begins with the announcer asking: “How much immigration do the American PEOPLE want?”
Near the end, the announcer notes: “The majority of voters say the number should be cut to five hundred thousand or less.”
And thanks to the new poll, we now know that is true in California as well as the nation:
57% of likely California voters in this fall’s midterm congressional elections say they want Congress to cut LEGAL immigration, most of them by a lot.
Only 32% say they want to keep immigration at one million a year or increase it.
NumbersUSA commissioned the survey of 1,000 likely California voters on March 20-24. The margin of sampling error was 3 percentage points.
The first question of the survey was straightforward:
QUESTION: Current federal policy adds about one million new immigrants with lifetime work permits each year. Which is closest to the number of new immigrants the government should be adding each year?
Voters were given six choices. Here were the results:
34% — Less than 250,000
15% — 500,000
07% — 750,000
———————————
13% — One million
06% — One and a half million
13% — More than two million
———————————-
11% — Not sure
Doesn’t it feel like most of the elected officials in California are representing mainly the 13% of voters who want immigration at least doubled to more than two million?
(See the immigration grades for all California Members of Congress at: https://www.numbersusa.com/content/my/tools/grades/list/0/CONGRESS/ca/A/… )
It is really important for your Members of Congress to know how the state’s voters feel about the overall numerical level of immigration. Your contacts will help bring this polling alive among people who can do something about the numbers.
Please contact your Members even if you think they are hopeless. They became hopeless in part because they came to believe that most of their constituents are okay with a million new immigrants every year.
We need “immigration reductions” to become the top immigration priority in Washington.
Only 38% of California voters favor continuing chain migration categories.
In terms of what should be cut to get annual immigration numbers down, the state’s voters were clear that chain migration ought to go.
Voters showed little interest in continuing family migration outside of spouse and minor children.
SCRIPT FOR THE TV AD
In the 1950s, immigration was 250,000 a year.
But Congress changed the rules. And the number DOUBLED by the ’80s even though Americans never asked for more AT ALL.
Then in 1990, Congress raised the number again — now averaging a MILLION a year.
The majority of voters say the number should be cut to five hundred thousand or less
Americans want LESS immigration. Why is Congress ignoring them?
Paid for by NumbersUSA. Because numbers count.

It’s too bad that we can’t get the number down to 0…
Then, add (LEGAL) immigration…
As is needed…
Until we get all the illegals out…
So we can begin, again, to manage our own America…
So we are then capable of functioning without any need for the border crossers!
