   No future plan will look economically feasible because the ACA has driven up health care insurance costs. Just do it and prices will drop immediately. NOW is the time to pass it to see what’s in it. The only took 2-3 days to pass the ACA and they didn’t have time to read the whole bill.

    Larry, there is plenty of hypocrisy to go around and it’s on both sides of the aisle. Ryan is trying to have it both ways and the GOP will probably sink this bill with no help from democrats and that may not be a bad thing. There are lots of conservatives (myself included) who don’t see it as real repeal. Let them take a bit more time and come up with something better.

    The problem remains the same, just as the promise. That is the cost of health care, and to do some thing about that cost. Yet the focus remains on insurance; who is going to cover the cost of insurance; how can every one get and afford insurance coverage.

    Still ignored is the cost of health care. The hospital, doctors, and all else involved in actual health care costs are ignored as if those costs are unquestionably legitimate.

    Reminds me of all the donation jars on counters of nearly every convenience store round here. There are just so many needing help covering expenses for so many procedures, many truly life and death matters. But that hospital, that doctor, demands their recompense, no matter how exorbitant, how hard one must beg, or how dire the need.

    The Paul Ryan bill is Obamacare light and includes a 30% penalty for customers that let their insurance lapse under obamacare. The penalty will be collected by the insurance companies. The tax on Cadillac policies is permanent and there is no competition. He’s taking care of the insurance companies, not consumers.
    The Rand Paul plan injects competition and lets individual persons join credit union or other consumer buying blocks to get competitive prices.

    without 30% penalty nobody would insure people with preexisting conditions
    Why would insurance offer any plan to someone who didn’t pay for insurance all his life and wants to pay some $500 per month to cover a million dollar treatment for cancer or other diseases
    I believe that they do not have any other choice
