Scott Pruitt was confirmed by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on February 2nd. This came on the second day of boycotts from Democrats; Senate Democrats did not show up for a vote on Pruitt on Wednesday and then again on Thursday, so Republicans moved to suspend the rule requiring Democrats to be in attendance for the vote.

“I have been informed that no Democrats will be in attendance,” Senator John Barrasso, chairman of the Environment and Public Works Committee, told reporters on Wednesday. “It is a disappointing turn of events.”
