Democratic President Franklin Roosevelt rounded up and put German-Americans, Italian-Americans and Japanese-Americans in interment camps during WWII — and was lauded for it.

Democratic President Jimmy Carter banned Iranians from entry during the Iran hostage crisis — and was lauded for it.

Republican candidate for president Donald Trump says we should ban Muslims from entry until we figure out what’s going on — and has been disparaged for it.

Difference? Democrats vs Republican
By law US president can suspend entry to the US to a class of people. Carter suspended entry of all Iranians during the hostage crisis
