A number of bad polls a day or two before the debate might be psy-op to get Trump disoriented and performing poorly at the debate.

Even HUFFPO more reliable than Fox on this, as it shows Trump AHEAD in the aggregate and indicates the NYT poll as the outlier:

Gravis/OAN poll: Trump 36%, Carson-22%, Rubio-11%, Bush-8%. Trump needs to order an Iowa poll from Gravis to see if the establishment pollsters started rigging polls to go to the establishment scenario: announce first that Carson beat Trump and later that either Bush or Rubio overcame Carson.
