If Trump runs as an independent it will split the Republican/conservative vote and we’ll end up with Hillary as president. It’s happened before. He should state now whether or not he might run as an independent.

he will not state now and he will get independent vote. Today about 30% vote for Dems, 30% vote for GOP and 40% are independent. He might win with 40% of independents and some Dems and Repubs who want a change

There is no reason to think that people who identify as independent will necessarily vote for an independent. After all, independent just means not registered to vote in party primaries. I am an independent (I describe my politics as conservative but not Republican), but I did not vote for Perot and would never vote for Trump.

Orly, I can support you even if I don’t always agree with you.

Isn’t that what independent means?

Independent usually means you’re an uneducated fence sitter. Or most likely a vain asshole who likes to think they hold the cards to the outcome. Usually indicative that you need to feel important, which is indicative that in reality you aren’t important at all.

no, independent voters often see that both Dem and GOP candidates are corrupt and do not represent the people, and are not willing to vote for either one of them. There is not much of a difference between Clinton and RINO GOPers, such as Bush, Rubio, Christy or Kasich. If Trump is serious about his campaign and he does not make it as a GOPer, he should run as an Independent and give us a real choice
