Though it’s a bedrock American principle that citizens can steer their own government by electing new officials, Glennon suggests that in practice, much of our government no longer works that way. In a new book, “National Security and Double Government,” he catalogs the ways that the defense and national security apparatus is effectively self-governing, with virtually no accountability, transparency, or checks and balances of any kind. He uses the term “double government”: There’s the one we elect, and then there’s the one behind it, steering huge swaths of policy almost unchecked. Elected officials end up serving as mere cover for the real decisions made by the bureaucracy.

    I agree Orly. This country was founded and dominated by God fearing men and women. Thomas Jefferson was a minister and held services in the capital building the dome of which is adorned with religious murals. Today the democrats brag that we are no longer a Christian nation. Thanks to them. We are all suffering the consequences. The freedoms we enjoy come from God, not democrats, many of them do not understand that yet.

    Before O came on the scene, the legendary psychic, Jeanne Dixon, spoke opening about our govt.

    Then, she got some “suits” that came to her door to tell her not to discuss her “govt. within a govt” talk!

    Now, it’s very well known who? what? where? when? how? and WHY? we are seeing this massive, evil perversion!

    Rich, can you provide source material for your claim that Jefferson was a minister and held services at the Capitol? He was Minister to France in the eighteen century but that is not the same as a minister of religion. It was the equivalent of an ambassador. Having read all volumes of Dumas Malone’s multi-volume biography of Jefferson, considered by many as the most complete biography of our third President, I do not remember any reference to him being a religious minister.

    As for your claim about religious murals in the Rotunda, the only one which could be considered remotely religious is “The Apotheosis of Washington” showing Washington’s descent to Heaven. This was painted in 1865, six decades after Jefferson left office. The rest of the murals in the Rotunda all show events in American History.

    The weave of government with corporations such as Google, Facebook, GE, Monsanto and all the others will doom this nation. Big money rules over the people. Foreign nations are probably bribing officials with their millions. Corruption is so rampant in both parties..it is hard to see a way out. Add all the illegals and the doles explode. The elite are setting up the American people.

    The article on double government focuses exclusively on the defense and the intelligence agencies of government and completely ignores others of similar importance and equally independent of elected officials, namely, the IRS, the Department of Education, Department of Homeland Security, etc., etc. The article diverts our attention from most of the massively increased bureaucracy nurtured by the current regime.

    I am still waiting for you to provide your sources as to your assertion that Jefferson was a Christian minister who conducted services in the Capitol Building. Remember the words of the late scientist Carl Sagan: “Incredible claims require incredible evidence”. You have made an incredible claim now provide us with your incredible evidence.
