This is all very interesting but I need to have an answer to a question because you said it was legal for a state to secede.

I live in Texas and want the state to secede. I also served in the armed forces and am retired. If the state of Texas leaves the Union, will I still receive my veterans benefits and pay? I hope you can answer this for me because I believe we will leave the United States because you said we could.

More questions. If the United States refuses to pay my benefits and retirement when Texas leaves the union, what recourse can be taken?

You could start a column like “Dear Abby” only make it “Dear Orly” and people could write you letters for legal advice.

James: this might work with benefits (but only if your state is one of the few/many that has a balance of a surplus?

The states with a (D) as governor, may not be able to handle this, as they do too much spending and taxing!
