Nationwide anti-amnesty protests scheduled for today andtomorrow!

Dear CAPS Activist,

American citizens are justifiably outraged at our porous border and the unwillingness of the federal government to protect it. Protests in Murrieta, CA, that prevented three busloads of illegal aliens from reaching a Border Patrol processing station there, have sparked nationwide protests against the surge, and the administrative amnesty and amnesty proposals that encouraged it. More than 170 protests are scheduled for today andtomorrow. Click here to see if there is a protest in your area or copy and paste the URL below into your web browser:

CAPS is not directly involved in organizing these protests, however, we strongly encourage you to attend a protest for an hour or two if you are able.  If you attend:

• Please refer to the information in the link above for more details
• Consider bringing a sign with huge lettering
• Please let CAPS know what you saw and heard by calling (805) 564-6626 or emailing info@CAPSweb.org
• If the media approaches you for an interview, have a few talking points in your mind.  Here are some suggestions:

1. If they ask why you came out today:

“I’m here to tell President Obama and Congress that they need to secure our borders and stop illegal immigration.”

2. If they ask why you don’t want to help immigrant children:

“Children of other countries should stay in their home countries and be cared for appropriately there.  The U.S. has 1.6 million homeless children of its own that need help.”

3. If they ask you how you feel about “comprehensive” immigration reform or “our broken immigration system”

“So-called comprehensive immigration reform or any kind of legalization of illegal aliens is simply amnesty in disguise, which I oppose.  We need to enforce the laws already in place and control our border.”

4. If they play the race card

“Controlling our borders and wanting sane immigration policies enforced has nothing to do with race.  The open borders crowd plays the race card whenever they don’t have a leg to stand on intellectually.”
