I have been in Contact with my Reps. in DC. and INFORMED them about Highway 16A being a State/County Owned & Maintained Road. The road that goes past Mount Rushmore that The National Parks Service took it upon Themselves to BLOCK OFF PORTIONS to keep people from VIEWING The Shrine of Democracy!!! Its against the LAW to Impede Traffic…That Simple. If those Cones are NOT REMOVED by days End, I will take it upon myself and my son to drive the 17 miles, and take them out of the way.

    UPDATE… 9:20 am MST., State Trooper called me AND agreed with MY CONCERNS that The NPS could be Impeding Traffic, and Creating a Hazard by Blocking The Turn Offs. He works out of Keystone (on the way to Mt. Rushmore),He said he would Take the Drive to Make sure Public Safety was Priority. The recent Blizzard has made 16A Impassable (3+ feet of Snow). He said he would contact me this afternoon.
