H.R. 6061, the “Secure Fence Act of 2006“, was introduced on September 13, 2006. It passed through the U.S. House of Representatives on September 14, 2006 with a vote of 283–138.

On September 29, 2006, by a vote of 80–19 the U.S. Senate confirmed H.R. 6061

Expansion freeze

President Barack Obama ordered a halt to the expansion of the “virtual fence,” the Department of Homeland Security announced on March 16, 2010.[26] The money would be used to upgrade current border technology.

Local efforts

In response to a perceived lack of will on the part of the federal government to build a secure border fence, and a lack of state funds, Arizona officials plan to launch a website allowing donors to help fund a state border fence.

    Obama is now pushing this fence because he wants to keep US from leaving the country! He’ll soon want a fence on the northern border too to keep us from leaving and going to Canada!!!

    It isn’t odd at all that Obama “plays” with race as were it a piece on his chess board of Narcissism.

    Sending the message that the fence is “halted” signals “TRY NOW TO CROSS” to those considering it, and it enriches criminal “coyotes” who charge up to $6000 to get illegals across the border.

    1986 assured border fence, 2006 assured border fence…. no need for any new laws just finish what was already promised the American people when you decided to give illegal aliens amnesty to 3 million aliens!!! We don’t need more law, we just need the laws enforced that we do have! This is the same issue with gun laws…. we have tons of laws yet Holder and his regime refuse to uphold those laws!!

    If both houses voted to build it, why did they not go through the motions of building it?? That’s very strange!

    A 13 year old Texas girl was raped by a dozen illegal aliens down in Austin for many hours before being dumped!! Remember they are only poor souls coming here for work. How long will it take for racist groups like LaRaza, the Banditos, the NAACP, etc lead by Sharpton & Jackson to arrive on scene? Will Obama be claiming the you g victim as his daughter?

    you will never see that fence built.. you will never stop the illegals… politicians dont give a damn about anyone..

    the only way is when the people finally get tired of this crap and handle the problems on their own..

    sounds cruel but thats the only way to stop them….. maybe post politicians along the border with sling shots and rice??

    I,ve a a bad feelings. Something is going on very bad for America.(do not want to be very pessimistic)
