The former Marine who was detained over Facebook posts critical ofthe government isbeing held in a psychiatric ward, Peter Bacqué ofthe Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.

“I’mcurrently in John Randolph in the psychiatricward being heldagainst my will,” Brandon Raub, 26, said in atelephone interview with the Times-Dispatch.”They were concerned about me calling for the arrest of governmentofficials.”

Accordingto Raub’smother, authorities from the FBI, Secret Service and ChesterfieldCounty PDcame to their door on Thursday evening, questioned Raub about his Facebookposts, then handcuffedhim and placed him in a Chesterfield PD squad car before taking him toJohn RandolphPsychiatric Hospital in Hopewell, Va.

Both theFBI and Secret Service said Raub was not arrested or charged, but theRutherford Institute statement points out that “if the police have put handcuffs on you and you’rebeing held against your will, that qualifies as an arrest.”

When asked about why Raub was placed in a psychiatric ward, FBI Richmond spokeswoman told usthat the FBI “had nothing todo with that” and that the FBI typicallydoesn’t “make determinations such as that.”

    I used to watch police/law television programs like Law & Order or NYPD Blue. I remember times where they would not ‘arrest’ a subject, but would claim the laws would permit ‘detaining’ a subject for up to a few days while they invade and rifle through the person’s underwear drawer and private property. I don’t know how true this is because the only problems I ever had with the law was one speeding ticket and a bunch of parking tickets that I got out of because the idiot meter cop didn’t know that parking was free after 6pm and on weekends. Total headache.

    This might help explain why the idiots decided to lock up Marine Raub and should scare the crap out of every citizen:

    The link above is Obama’s Executive Order placing the country in a status of national emergency due to some sort of risk related to Russian nukes. I don’t have the links available, but this order was coupled by a number of executive orders that are automatically triggered during a state of national emergency. I remember reading elsewhere that the other orders are actively in effect because of this one and involve nationalization of industries/resources/banks and to detain people indefinitely. Frankly, this scares the crap out of me. It’s seems so similar to the US government having Nazi Gestapo-like powers. In Marine Raub’s case, he is nabbed, cuffed, but not arrested, yet for some reason winds up in a psych ward. Didn’t we recently have a court case where some dude insinuated that PrezBo should be [I am not going to say it, but you probably remember seeing it in the news], arrested, but then the courts ruled him innocent under the 1st ammendment? Could the Obama regime be waiting for the right moment to literally take over our country in a Chavez-like fashion? I can see it now. October rolls around and Israel attacks Iran, Obama tries to act tough and gets us involved in it, then the Russians and Chinese attack us. Kind of seems similar to the Red Dawn remake hitting the theaters this year. Then out of sheer coincidence, the nukes start flying on 12/21/2012 proving the conspiracy theorists correct. I know the latter part of my comments may be just pure speculation, but the way things are going, it seems like the country has a one way ticket directly into the crapper. One last thing… I bet the Democrats will start saying the hurricane/storm that might strike during the RNC is George Bush’s fault.

    The Federal Government has determined that his private comments about “sharpening his axe to chop of heads” is adequate justification to hold him for evaluation. Meanwhile the Black Panthers openly post “wanted dead or alive posters” and suggest killing white babies on public radio. It certainly seems to me that the members of the Black Panthers who are talking this trash also need to be detained for evaluation. But this won’t happen.
